“Where’s the rest of this Moose?”
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the clear, cold, calm, cathartic island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Tuesday morning, the twenty-seventh day of December, 2011, a beautiful one on Cape, with the sun rising once again in the east, another brilliant call by Thompson-Reuters, and the day is expected to be seasonably cool, with abundant sunshine, with little to no wind. As this is effectively a ‘buy’ week, no pun intended, for the media outlets, causing withdrawal symptoms for all of the political junkies out there–priests, pundits, politicians, and poets alike–most likely all thinking to themselves, ‘there must be little to say–“…as this teleprompter is not telling or directing me to do anything, oh my God! I am going to be on air in five minutes and one of the guests include ‘Carrot Top’, as he is apparently here to discuss the European debt crisis, as well as the future of the Korean Peninsula, what did I do to deserve this God?” (an earlier eavesdropping of an off the air comment by one of the fine anchors over on the Fox & Friends morning show set…only a few moments ago). Yes, this is the week, typically, where we all take a step back, reflect on the year for about a half a second, and then move forward after the celebrations on the 31st, ready to take on the challenges of this upcoming election year, an epic one in this country with all that is at stake, namely our democracy, as all of that money that has entered politics via “Citizens United” is on the verge of completely hijacking the “United States of America”. That, along with the rampant disregard for our environment, a rigged system that favors the rich, and tougher new voter ID laws and redistricting, creating the real voter fraud to keep corporate, global plutocratic interests in power, forged, again, by the republicans, another dirty trick that is par for the course with this motley crew of ‘not your grandfather’s GOP’, for they, more so than the democrats who are also guilty to a certain degree, bow only to those big monied corporate interests out there, most of whom are global in nature, thus above the law, throwing the “American People” under the proverbial bus as someone like Mitt, “corporations are people too”, Romney runs over the whole lot of the American middle class with said bus, along with the working poor, turning this country into a cesspool of poisonous rivers, streams, estuaries, headwaters, lakes, reservoirs, bays, sounds, along with the land that is forever joined with them, land that was once pristine wilderness, laced with 596 deadly, unregulated, of course, and unknown, to a large degree, chemicals used in the fracking process of attaining ‘natural gas’, the boom that will destroy of drinking water forever, thanks ‘brother’s KOCH!’ All of that as well as a sewer of legalized bribes that have turned this country into “We the corporation”, while the puppets in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, most of whom are republicans, shred the remaining pages of the sacred United States Constitution, a document that many men, and women, much better than the those on Capitol Hill at present, fought and died preserving–shame on you! Have a wonderful day folks, keeping in mind that if a politician’s mouth is moving, he is, by definition, most likely LYING to you! PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
