walk the ocean…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 1:41 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the brilliant blue skied, puffy white cloud scattered, quite brisk, windy, wild island of Nantucket! Very good to be with you once again on this Thirtieth Day of March, 2017.  Thursday according to most accounts, and if one were to have been fortunate enough to walk the ocean today, you will catch the drift...

As this humble reporter walked to Kalmus Beach, in Hyannis earlier this morning, strolling ‘down on the docks’ of Ocean Street where fishing boats, tourists and giant ferries commune, Captain “Bob” of her Majesty “Sea Queen II”, stated loud and clear in that beautiful, quaint, fabled Cape Cod accent,

“…Spring has sprung matey! I just saw the first family of Osprey’s flying ‘ore yonder, by that new beautiful luxury hotel across from the Hyline ticket office and docks! Yep, they usually get here by the twenty-third but those wicked Northeaster’s must have slowed ‘em up a bit! My brother said they left Ft. Lauderdale at least a few weeks ago. Should have taken less time to get on up here!”

Bidding the good captain farewell, I promised to put this fascinating piece of natural history in this rather obscure ‘blog’ that seems to be all over the place…

Kind of like our Osprey friends. For they too are free to fly wherever their wings take them; wind and whispers to guide their flight.

Here’s hoping you and yours get that feeling someday real soon!

WE will leave the LIGHT on for ya!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
