Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny island of Nantucket!  Great to be back with you on this Monday morning, the nineteenth day of September, 2011, another bright and beautiful one out here on Cape, and I pray that you and yours had a nice week end.  The status quo of this nation’s economic situation remains the same today as it has since the inception of President Barack Obama’s Presidency, with republicans heading him off at every pass, leaving the majority of people in this great land high and dry, desperately looking to Washington to solve what cannot be solved under the current system.  We have seen this before, of course, during the 1930’s with then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt introducing the sweeping “New Deal” package that included, among many other things, Social Security, a program that has outlasted many bloody wars, social/civil rights upheaval and bitter partisan divide, as we see today, except that, that divide is now pumped up with steroids and will, as history will prove, should have been mandated for testing long ago.  The President’s “American Jobs Act” has not gained any real traction, even among his democratic supporters, or, more accurately, the few remaining supporters he still has left.  The President was dealt a lousy hand from the get go, and thus, has had little luck in creating an atmosphere that would induce the republican obstructionists to HAVE to bend a little on the say, TAX CODE, the real problem, along with housing, the lack of any well paying jobs, because they have all been shipped overseas, and the growing divide between the people WITH a voice, those with money and power, and those who will have a hard time just getting a voter ID card in 2012, as they shut down DMV’s in poor districts, thus disallowing the poor, minorities, students and the elderly from participating in next year’s vital elections, elections that will tell the final tale of this here United States of America.  For if a Rick, “I’m gonna get you sucka”, Perry is elected as our 45th President, two things will happen.  One, the “class warfare” the republicans are screaming about, ironically, will put the final nail in the coffin of our whole democratic system, as Republicorp of America will have finally BOUGHT the Executive of this great land and will bend the will of our forefather’s in such a way that America will not recognize itself twenty years from now when it looks at the image in the mirror staring back at itself, saying, ‘what the hell happened?’.  But, who knows, perhaps a miracle will occur and suddenly republicans of all stripes, moderate and ultra conservative, will WAKE UP and realize that it is morally bankrupt to continue to legislatively allow big multi-national corporate interests, who do not have any interest in the people of this great land, to go on unabated–running rough shod over the majority of people in this nation, 98 percent of them anyhow, leaving them with dirty, indeed poisonous, drinking water (thanks David and Charles Koch!), filthy air, and a planet that is exponentially warming that, if not addressed, could spell our doom for ALL humans in the end.  Those corporate titans of industry will then be called out on what they are really all about–PROFIT OVER PEOPLE–and this country of ours will somehow balance itself back to it’s original upright position.  Let US pray for that today and everyday hence forth. Have a wonderful week ahead, and please tune in this week for more on the environment, politics and perhaps some clips from Turner Classic Movies…offering some wisdom in a world that has gone quite mad.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
