Ti amo!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:20 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the warming, sunny island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Saint Valentine’s Day, the fourteenth day of February, 2012, a beautiful one on Cape, as I extend a hearty Valentine’s Day wish of Love, Luck and Joy to you and yours, offering an African Violet in stead of very expensive roses that seacapecod.net cannot afford at present moment…Ti amo baby! It is hard to gather how much love is around the republican party this morning in Washington D.C. however, as Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum gear up not to offer chocolates or a Vermont Teddy Bear to one another, but jabs of a different stroke, a sharp elbow–hopefully, if you are Mitt Romney desperately trying to win the state of Michigan, the next big republican primary–directly into Rick Santorum’s rather loud socially engineered dog whistle, a sound that insists “IT” is the truly severe republican offering to truly take this country back to the 18th century, complete with oil lamps, re-engineered Lighthouses and Paul Revere reborn/reincarnated, wildly riding around on that horse, ‘ringin’ those bells and reloading (while he was riding his horse) ye old musket, firing off those warning shots (again, while on ye ole steed) the British the Americans’ were a comin’…?’ (credit half governor/activist/humanitarian/wolf hater Sarah, “I’m not an idiot, I just play one on TV”, Palin).  Hallelujah! When I was a kid growing up in Simsbury, Connecticut, Happy Valentine’s Day Mom!, my parent’s took me to Barnum and Bailey’s ‘greatest show on earth’, i.e. the circus, and now, 30 years later, I am in awe every day, for that joy I experienced watching the Elephants and clowns work together like magic in motion, is being recreated by this wonderful republican nomination process, a process that is doing more to educate the ‘American People’ (credit Mitch McConnell, R-KY) about who and what the 1 percent (not all, please Google patriotic millionaires’) really WANT and who they really ARE, than anything our very fine President Barack Obama could ever do.  Thank you for all you have done GOP, especially you Andrew Brietbart!  God speed with that anger management issue… Happy Valentine’s Day everybody, welcome back Keith!, and a very special Valentine’s Day wish to Patty Marsan, the wonderful photographer who helped make seacapecod.net a reality, I love you and God Bless you. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
