“…the next President of the United States.”
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the wonderfully beautiful, sunny, temperate, perfect summer day on the fair island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the 13th day of August, 2012, around the 11 a.m. hour, a day to take in if you like all that this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago, by “THE LAST GREAT ICE AGE”, offers. Be it biking, walking, running, swimming, kayaking, sailing, golf, or long walks in the numerous National Parks, i.e. the Cape Cod National Seashore” (and local parks), created, by the way, by the a real republican President, our 26th, Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909). A President of this great country before WE all seemed to have lost our way in the early 1980’s of this past century, where greed and the ‘lust for money’ overtook OUR better ANGELS, our common sense and common purpose as a nation in general. The choice come November 6th, of this year, is quite clear, for Mitt and Paul will tell you their ‘vision’ will create 12 million jobs, help seniors and women, children, the middle class and the poor. Do you really believe that? President Barack Obama, and our 45th President of this great land, has already PROVED that he will, did, could and will continue to do so. The other choice, i.e. Paul Ryan’s budget (please Google for details just for your own edification) …well just does not any hold water, save some “natural gas fracking fluid”… I know it is only a Monday, so I won’t bombard you with all of the relevant FACTS regarding said “Ryan budget”, save this–their plan is to give more money to those who have made it in this country with no intention of giving anything back to it, not all certainly, but a vast majority of them. Job creation? Mitt, really? Are you for real or just another game show host that will soon be a memory in the annuls of ‘time’? The gloves ARE off and I want all of those skeptics out their to KNOW this–that a great President, Teddy Roosevelt, our 26st President at that turn of that 20th century, fought those Robber Barons that now come in the form of a Bain Capital, a Goldman Sachs, Exxon-Mobile or a tax code that has so many loopholes in it you could run a Mack truck right through the middle of it. Do not be fooled by wooden nickels bantered about by say a FOX “NEWS”. Rather, listen to far greater journalists than myself, such as a Paul Krugman, Mr. John Nichols of the Nation Magazine, or even the late, great Walter Cronkite, of CBS News fame, who would have laughed at this movie, complete with some interesting music, a play WE all witnessed on this past Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia. For their philosophy of ’shrinking government’ is to reward those at the top with more tax breaks, destroy Medicare and Medicaid, Planned Parenthood, and destroy regulations that keep our water, air and seas safe for the next generation, as well as increasing defense spending by the trillions. All on the back of the middle class (the real 99 percent), a group they claim to champion. This not to mention ‘the least of US’ (the poor), for as Jesus himself stated many moons ago, what you do to those people, “You Do Unto Me”… Have a great week and stay cool, wherever you may be.
