The Bridge; “Taken”

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:14 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sultry, steamy, sexy, soft sunned and quite warm island of Nantucket! Good to be back with you on this humid Wednesday morning, broadcasting LIVE from ‘down on the docks’ of historic Hyannis Harbor, on little old Cape Cod, that strip of sand that ‘time’ forgot, this Tenth Day of August, 2016.  It is yet another great beach day for those headed out to Jetty’s Beach, Surfside Beach, or Madaket Beach on Nantucket, Long Beach at Craigville, Dowses Beach in Osterville, or even venturing as far as the Cape Cod National Sea Shore and Race Point; where the sands of ‘time’ make one comprehend the genius of one hilarious late night Irish stand up comic and part time actor Liam Neeson, and his many now famous quotes from a plethora of 6th grade level Hollywood entertainment spoofs that have “Taken” our hearts…, statements such as,

“…there’s no time!”

Thank you Liam! And God Bless those horses in New York you love as much as Sea Cape Cod! As well as the wild Connemara Ponies of Ireland, may they take you to where you wish to be…

The month of August round these here parts of historic majesty is usually made up of the more well to do folk, who do, like most Americans, take the whole month of August off.  Taking the ‘time’ to smell those Rugosa Roses, watching a whale breach off Stellwagen Bank, witness the kindness of a father to a son when he has him on his shoulders watching the “Eagle” make it’s landing at ‘The Steamship Authority”, perhaps splashing around in the cool, clean, refreshing, blessed waters of Nantucket Sound somewhere along stunning Long Beach, or simply sitting by the marshes’ edge and being with nature’s best, i.e. the Snowy Egret, The Great Blue Heron, a giant snapping turtle, a brilliant red Cardinal, a giant Osprey, or a beautiful Swan swimming silently by…, or the swallows that drift in and out of one’s consciousness, perhaps waking it back up to it’s original desire and purpose on this beautiful planet.

Who knows?

The point is, summer is still in full swing!  So get on your bike, your plane, your train, your car, your moped, or your Bircham and pay US a visit!  We will, as always, leave that Light on for ya! Like the good folks who play all the great music one enjoys when traveling down these ancient paths.  Such as the genius work of DJ’s Jim Sands and Bill Stevens of 98.7 Koffee FM, or Brandon and Steve from 97.7 ACK FM; Nantucket’s only true radio station!  Hallelujah! Playing songs that bring this hamlet to back life; bringing one musicians that rock it all night long my friends!

‘For after all is said and done, music is the universal language’…

We put in a request for ‘the Donald’, but have yet to hear a response, however, he may ‘tweet’ some RSVP later, finger’s crossed!  Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton, however, seems to have gotten the message as she will be visiting OUR fine U.S. President Barack Obama in Chilmark, sometime later during this most blessed month that most just let pass on by…

Stay cool America! and remember, ‘it’s only a game’… (credit: Bill Hicks)

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
