On a clear Monday morning here in Osterville, Columbus Day, the kettle ponds are still the playground of dogs of all sizes shapes and colors.  When I take my black lab for a walk in the woods next to my house, usually with several “guests”, I am amazed at the world they live in.  Every scent, sight, sound, touch and taste is all encompassing into one adventure with no thought of the past or concern for the future–it is right here and right NOW.  As hard as it is throughout the day to remember that lesson, fighting through doubt and the pre-programming of our modern day world, I take a step back and think of Allie and her friend, swimming out to retrieve a tennis ball in the water, the freedom in it, and the joy intrinsic within.  Somehow, everything else seems to carry less weight.  Have a great week!  Peace, M
