Summer Play

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket!  On a windy, misty morning here in Osterville, with white caps upon Nantucket Sound, I bid you a fair adieu.  The weather forecast for the week end is expected to be sunny and cool, so come on down and visit us, and as always, we will leave the Light on for you…  As the nation becomes a little more in tune with the evils of big oil, the damaged well head 5000 plus feet below the surface of the Gulf continues to spill, or spew, or gush the black gold into one of our shining seas.  Watching my man, Keith Olberman last night, on his venerable show, “Countdown, with Keith Olberman”, airing on MSNBC at 8 p.m. EST, we viewed a montage of video clips of our favorite robotic villain, Tony, “I’m serious, I would like my life back as well as a scone and perhaps a Director’s Bitter”, Hayward (CEO, bp).  In this we heard old favorites like, “the effects of the spill on the coast line will be modest,” “there are no giant oil plumes”, “the booms are providing the protection we need for the coast,” “this was not our spill, it was the fault of another company, Transocean,” and, my favorite, “I want my mommy!”  The reality of this situation is this–we need to take the reigns from this corporate monster and hire a navy of supertankers to start combing the coast, sucking up the oil fields in the sea, filtering that dirty water, (proven  to work on the Arabian Gulf in 1993, where over 800 million barrels were lost and over 90 percent of the oil was recovered) and stop believing anything bp says–for they have proven over and over again that they are LYING about everything they claim.  If Tony’s mouth is moving, then by definition, he’s lying… The big question is, why have we not taken this step?  Is big oil truly running the show?  I listened to my buddy, “Senator” John Barrasso (R-WY), who told Jim Lehrer, of PBS Newshour yesterday, that he, like our idiot friend in Louisiana, Mary Landrieu (D-LA), continues to support deep off shore drilling, still.  He does not even believe we should “take a break” from the madness of drilling without a net, because it “might take some jobs away from the economy”.  Bulls#$t!  He is being pushed by big oil to say these nonsensical words.  Drill for oil when part of our country is being destroyed forever?  Are you insane sir?  Do you know what the definition of insanity is?  Doing the same thing, expecting different results. You sir, to quote my friend Keith Olberman, are a f@#cking idiot!  Unfortunately, there are plenty just like him.  Why not explode a few nuclear bombs while we’re at it?  Let’s deregulate the whole country, and make it illegal to think progressive thoughts, making them punishable by death.  For that is what you ass@#les are doing to our country.  You are slowly killing it with your mid-evil practices, where money is the only virtue and a true mark of a man is how many men he has stepped on along the way.  Who are these monsters who act on behalf of the bigger monsters under the bed?  Monsters, Inc. I would love to see Billy Crystal do a number on these clowns, for the only way to stop them, is to shame them into submission.  Bring them to Justice along the First Testament way, and see how far their “philosophy” on how to live a life got them.  NO WHERE.  Anyone with eyes can see– that this is why bp has taken over the “cleanup effort”…what a JOKE.  For they do not want you to see this monumental act of environmental terrorism.  That is what this is–terrorism.  The reality of the shock doctrine continues unabated in this country, because no one has the guts to stand up for their right to complain that a nameless, faceless, heartless, soul-less corporation has gutted the marshes, the sea creatures and the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida–and if they are not stopped soon, that black gold will be coming to the shores of Devon in the United Kingdom– leaving us all wondering why we did not stop them sooner.  We have the power, not bp, to put an end to this.  FIRE BP! Make this into an Apollo mission to the power of 1000.  This is our land, this is our sea, this is our country!  GODS SPEED TO THE GULF–the marsh lands, sea creatures and people therein… Have a good week end everybody and keep the faith, it is always darkest right  before the dawn!  Peace~ M
