Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the raw, cold, damp and dreary island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Saturday morning, December 7th, 2013, a cool, wet day out on the waters of Nantucket Sound, hoping you and yours are enjoying a nice day off from the rat race. Of course, the world is mourning the loss of one of the greatest leaders’ in our lifetime, South African President Nelson Mandela, who many believe was the reason Apartheid, or “apart-ness” (the brutal racial policy of the white Dutch run government that ran the ANC into the ground and the entire black population with it, eventually placing Mandela in prison for 27 years) fell away, creating the free and rather peaceful South Africa that we see today. Nelson Mandela represented much more than his humble one term presidency of that nation led on. His amazing struggle against oppression and the spirit of forgiveness towards his oppressors transformed an entire nation forever, indeed changing the world too, and most say there will never be such a figure that was able to endure such a harsh sentence, while gaining so much for his fellow human beings. It has been said of Mandela, “…he raised the spirits of both the oppressed and oppressors alike.” WE, as a world, will miss him and pray that the moral terrorism he fought against, i.e. tyranny in any form, will never rear it’s ugly head again, hoping against hope this world wakes up to what is truly important and what is so most clearly not. People and the LOVE therein is the STUFF that makes up our world, not profit. WE are in this boat together, find a way to get along, especially those who hold great power, for that power demands great responsibility–raise minimum wages to a living reality, feed our people, walk your bloody Christian talk! Have a nice day folks and rest of the week end and steer clear of FOX “News”, it contains deadly toxins to the soul; it is a medium that is not meant for human consumption, EVER… PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
