Squaw Island
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the gorgeous, sunny, mild and intoxicating island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 30th day of July, 2013, a Tuesday morning, roughly 11:07 a.m. eastern standard, coming to you LIVE from Hyannis/Hyannis Port here on the mainland of the Cape and Islands aforementioned, truly the hub of this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age, an age, I am sure 99 percent of scientists worth their salt would agree, will not be visiting these shores any time soon. I have finally plugged back in, much to my dismay, into the ‘real world’ of politics and the environment of which this blog has been based upon. I thought I would take the summer, which I did, and reflect without television, phones and sometimes even this Internet. To unplug from the constant crap going on across the globe, yes taking in the natural beauty all around me in every form– to take in the shift that has already occurred. Yes sir that Internet I “need” to communicate my thoughts and hopeful visions for the future of not only this nation, but the world at large–bringing some sense, COMMON SENSE, to real problems facing us all and thank GOD I am not alone! None so much as the real upcoming threat for all humanity in the next millennium–global warming… Leaving that issue aside for the moment, the new fun on Capitol Hill this summer break for the kids is the upcoming “Friscal Cliff” of a possible government shutdown over the debt ceiling, with republican legislatures, if you wish to call them that, pushing for more austerity, seeming to “think” that will bolster the ever vanishing middle class. HOGWASH! The whole purpose of the duped so called “tea party”, a manufactured group of dim wits whose eyes have been sealed by the wool pulled over those eyes by ‘men’ like the Koch Brother–whose only mission is for the status quo of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer to remain in tact until this country is nothing more than the football stadiums you see now across these amber waves of grain... such as the former Boston Garden now being called, “TD BANK NORTH”… Yes sir come on down to the new, new United States of American folks! Let us just call it what it is truly becoming, “the United States of Exxon-Mobile”, whose profits are up with God’s own Grace–but of course, without the GRACE! President Barack Obama, is up against this new debt ceiling cliff of a possible government shut down because he is pitted against a rogue group of radical republicans who do not want the Affordable Care Act, PASSED into law in his first term as President, to go forward, stating that it is only hurting small business’s that “make up most of the economy in this country”, not to mention the EPA and about ten other critical government agencies that keep this country from falling into the hands of a corporate CEO like a David Koch who only want to rape and pillage it for their OWN PROFIT, i.e. their modus operandi, PROFIT OVER PEOPLE! Again, HOGWASH! Most of that profit you sea on Wall Street comes from revenue making money makers involved in BIG BUSINESS, not the other way around, and most of that revenue is whisked away from the U.S. Treasury Department via tax loopholes one could drive a Mack TRUCK through and placed in banks off shore–never giving back to a society that gave them the opportunity in the first place. It is time to wake up America and not let these thieves take any more blood from your collective veins. Take SAC Hedge funds for example which is just the tip of the iceberg. Not one man was indicted for the 2008 investment banking meltdown that was given to Obama as a welcome home present of sorts. A whole lot of people made a whole lot of money over the past 50 years and many in this nation are struggling to put food on the table–THAT IS the REAL NEWS. I find the republican agenda abhorrent and if President’s Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt where alive today, they would take those boys down to the woodshed and teach them a lesson. WAKE UP AMERICA! Who is truly on the side of the 99 percent?… Who is most clearly not?
