Wisconsin Solidarity
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday morning here in Osterville, the eighteenth day of February, 2011, a day that will feature warm temperatures, 50’s expected, as we look to the image above for “Hope springs eternal”… However, for our friends in Wisconsin, the wintry blues just keep on coming, ahhh, the humanity. Ground zero IS Wisconsin, for the dismantling of the ever smaller voice of the American people, by way of destroying public unions, all happening right NOW in that great state in the heart land of our great nation. This is EPIC and all important if you care anything about the ‘little people’ in this great country–the ones that do 98 percent of the living and dying in this beautiful land–for everyone should take heed and realize what is taking place. If you don’t believe me, you soon will, as this country turns from a fair and free society, to a land that is ruled by those who have the gold, making the rules concerning everything from women’s reproductive rights, to food and water safety, to the countries that we “have to go to war with.” Republican strategists, such as Karl Rove, who heads up two political action committees, notably “American Crossroads/GPS”, have gathered the coming storm cloud consisting of oil and other industry billionaires, to effectively “take out” the one remaining stumbling block to ultimate power, and thus, ultimate ruin for the average American worker, namely, public employee unions, whose campaign donations and grass roots efforts helped launch then Senator Barrack Obama’s presidential bid into a winning number, a winning formula that would finally give the real American people a true voice in the wilderness of today’s turbo charged political environment. On “The Rachel Maddow Show”, a most excellent source of TRUTH, airing every week night at 9 p.m. EST, only on MSNBC, this past evening, this fact was spelled out under no uncertain terms. Rachel simply revealed some numbers and as we all know, numbers do not lie. Money and politics, like peanut butter and chocolate, go together swimmingly, and when one has the advantage of enormous corporate treasuries, political action groups such as Rove’s ‘American Crossroads‘, who pools 91 percent of billionaire oil money for example, for one specific purpose, and that being the destruction of public unions, save the police, fire and state troopers of Wisconsin, who supported the puppet Scott Walker posing as the “Governor”, can go to work for the purpose of taking away the power of the union’s political influence regarding upcoming elections, yes, when one has all of those ingredients in place, we’ve go a problem HOUSTON! In 2008 the largest contributors to campaign coffers were the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Freedom’s Watch (right wing), the NRA, (National Rifle Association), Service Employee International Union, and the American Federation of State and County Municipal Employees Union. Post Citizens United, in 2010, 7 out of 10 outside spending groups were all right wing. Number one was the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, followed by Rove’s “Crossroads/GPS”, an ironic name if I have ever heard one, American Futures Fund, and America’s For Job Security, while the likes of SEIU, AFSME (public employees union) and the NEA (teacher’s union) fall to numbers 5, 6 and 9 respectively on that top ten list. “Unions are the only competition we have in electoral politics,” Rachel commented, “post Citizens United, the republicans look at this and they smell blood. Without unions, essentially big money in politics would be right wing money, all of it.” This truly decides who wins elections and who loses them. Rachel continued, “If republicans can use public policy to destroy their only competition, for big political money, if they can use public policy to destroy the only major institutions that help democrats get elected at election time, then republicans can run the table. Beyond just the money though, a move like this destroys the ‘get out the vote’ organization capacity of unions, which makes a big difference on elections.” Just ask Harry Reid (D-NV), the Senate majority leader, in his victory over the quite insane Sharron ‘Angle’ of ’second amendment remedies’ fame, “He’ll tell ya…” (credit the late, great Rodney Dangerfield from the classic film Caddyshack), who might well have use Ted Knight’s line in that same film for this fiasco, “Well, don’t just stand there, go and get some glue!” This is all about democrats versus republicans, nothing to do with the Wisconsin state budget that was actually one of the only states in the union with a surplus (131 million in the black), and is in arrears only due to the fact that Scott Walker gave huge tax breaks to corporations in his state, the same corporations that pull his itsy, bistsy strings that move his mouth, his hands, his feet and most likely his spirit as well, making the argument that the republicans are making, “we’re broke” moot for all intents and purposes– yes, this IS all about the philosophies of democrats and republicans at large, as one wants a good life for all it’s brothers and sisters, the other wishes for a PLUTOCRACY, or rule by the wealthy, effectively turning this country into a slave ship. This move was foreshadowed by the demise of A.C.O.R.N., an organization that once helped poor and minority groups in every state in the nation, providing mostly housing, food and health care solutions to the nation’s disenfranchised, giving them HOPE when there was no place left to go–a group where republicans discovered that ACORN was helping register the poor and minorities in mostly urban areas of the country to vote, who overwhelmingly voted for democrats come election time. If you recall, the republican party destroyed that vital link for the disenfranchised and now wishes to do the same with public employee unions in general, across the board, taking away the final stumbling block for the wealthy in this country to claim victory over bleeding heart liberals like the late, great, LAST LION of the Senate, Teddy Kennedy (D-MA), who championed the ‘little people’ his entire remarkable political career. As Rachel put it so eloquently, “This is an existential fight for the democratic party.” The INTENT of the republican party is to break public employee unions, having them go by the way of ACORN, as they will attempt to do what they are currently doing in Wisconsin all across this great land of ours. Yes, they will take this ‘dog and pony show’ all across the nation, while back in Washington D.C., as$holes like the ‘Speaker’ of the House, Mr. John, “so be it”, Boehner pats himself on the back for a job well done, where he and his cohorts revel in the fact that millions of real American people will continue to suffer for many years to come from blind, corporate, raw, unadulterated GREED run amuck, systematically altering what this country really is now–a free for all for corporations to continue to rape and pillage our land for it’s natural resources, giving nothing back to it’s PEOPLE, while it takes away common sense rules of the road designed to disallow single individuals, very rich people, to gain all of the POWER, while the majority of the country suffers greatly. As you turn to Rupert Murdoch’s new “app” called the “Daily”, a “news” paper, in the form of a Blackberry or the like, that feeds the masses bullsh&t, you will see no story on this one, save the slanted viewpoint you may witness every day on FOX NEWS, the media propaganda arm of the republican party, better known as REPUBLICORP, brainwashing the “American People” into believing these MONSTERS have your best interests in mind. “Bake sales versus Billionaires indeed.” WAKE UP AMERICA and smell the proverbial coffee. You are being had, and if Wisconsin is the barometer for what is to come, be prepared, for we are on the verge of being hijacked and placed into a very real STOCKHOLM SYNDROME, where the republicans hope that the majority–by way of brainwashing instruments like “The Daily” and FOX NEWS–of Americans will side with their captors, i.e. vicious corporate interests, that could not give two sh&ts about you or me. You can take these words to the bank, preferably not a U.S. bank however. Please offer a prayer for the good and honest real American people today living in Wisconsin as well as the nation as a whole, and if you are one of them, my prayers are with you and yours today, tomorrow and for all time.
