Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you on this Sunday morning, a downright cold morning here in Osterville, with the sun shining full on the still green leaves that adorn most of Cape Cod and the islands…it was good to see Nantucket again, especially India Street as it brings back such fond memories…  The mood on the Sunday talk shows should be dark and gloomy as usual, I can’t remember a Sunday morning talk show where the lead story was something like, “there was no controversy today in Washington D.C., as a peace march descended upon the Capitol while the shrinking pro-war minority was drowned out in a sea of dissent from the crumbling military industrial complex…” something like that.  No, the mood will be one of perpetual pessimism about everything from the war in Afghanistan, a war we cannot win, to the lack of jobs in this country because they have all been shipped overseas by a group of powerful multi-national corporate entities that have hijacked the political system in this country and thus, the country itself.  It seems as if WE are in for an uphill battle of epic proportions and seemingly have only ourselves to blame.  Although, when you are playing the game with people who don’t play by the same rules, then who can really lay the blame on the one’s that do, have and always will.  That is one thing “they” cannot take away from us.  Playing by the rules means that you don’t accept foreign monies for your campaign that are designed to put you in the Senate so that you can vote lock step with the new corporate plutocratic line–all in the name of the “United States” Chamber of Commerce.  When you watch, from your Maple lined office in D.C., the crumbling of our infrastructure, the destruction of our educational system, while you watch countless people die due to the toxic ingestion of 596 chemicals provided by Halliburton on the tens of thousands of “natural gas” wells all across the country, as you see millions of homeless people on the streets begging for food, as you witness the re-birth of “real big government” as they outlaw everything from abortion rights, gay rights, woman’s rights, freedom of speech, Civil Rights of every stripe, and the right to practice the Faith of one’s choosing without fear of aggression or violence, you will see the grand folly of it all.  You will re-read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America and re-think your position on little things that you once thought were a “hoax”, such as GLOBAL WARMING, and realize the error of your ways, or more to the point, the error of the collective, unconscious ego’s ways, a march of nonsensical insanity, all while the city of Washington D.C. becomes a just another part of the Atlantic Ocean, as the seas rise by 20 to 30 feet, causing world wide pandemonium–perhaps then, you will put down your sword and join the ranks of the human race.  Have faith, all is not lost, there is still a chance that the United States can wake up and stand for something other than “the bottom line”, however, without voting on November 2, 2010, you truly will have no one to blame but yourself, perhaps for the last time in this country, one person still equals one vote!  Have a wonderful Sunday folks!   PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
