Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the fourteenth day of November, 2011, another stunning day on tap for the Cape and islands of MV and Nantucket, as the gentle southern breezes will warm the sun laden beaches into the upper 60’s, that’s Fahrenheit of course, with little change expected in the next few days…perfect weather to take in all that this most magnificent sand bar created by the Last Great Ice age over 11,500 years ago has to offer, ’so come on down and visit, we will, as always, leave the LIGHT on for ya!’. Quite a week end of non news related items, such as yet another republican debate, going over the same old nonsense, but this time, with a new rival to Mitt, “corporations are people too”, Romney, who still leads the pack with 23 percent of the vote, yes, it is our pal from the 90’s, give it up for “She turned me into a Newt”, Gingrich (credit the U.K.’s Monty Python’s Flying Circus), who uses his Masters in Medieval history to stir the wicked brew of slashing and burning, as opposed to the real life solutions of building and reforming. As I sat and listened to “Morning Joe”, only on MSNBC, this morning, listening for some wisdom from the various pundits and moderators of such events as the most recent republican debate, all I could really come up with is, “what planet are these guys, and gal, from?”, “or, what is their end game?”. Is it to see millions of women, children and men in the streets, literally helpless to do anything about their condition, as the system has been rigged to the point where it is now ‘Mission Impossible’ for say a struggling middle aged laid off office worker to BUY a job, as that person struggles to make ends meet with 100 bucks in food stamps every month, food stamps that someone like Paul Ryan (R-WI), wishes to do away with all together? Is that the ‘Christian’ thing to do congressman? Or is your brand of ‘Christianity’ of the a la carte variety? I thought so. It is easy to mouth the words of Jesus, the man who walked this earth over 2000 years ago, many saying the only ‘man’ to walk it who was part man, part Divine spirit, however, it is far different and noble to actually WALK his talk, especially when it flies in the face of your so called ‘family values’ and Grover Norquist’s Machiavellian ‘pledges’… Have a nice day folks and please, should you so desire, visit OXFAM, or Google savethechildren.org, credible institutions that are dedicated to supplying food and clean water to the millions of real people affected by the great FAMINE in Eastern Africa right now–feeding and providing medical care for those fleeing the drought stricken, war ravaged country of Somalia. Thank you. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS~! Peace~M
