separate sandboxes?

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:54 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the blue skied, puffy white clouded, breezy, beautiful and understandably boastful island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Eighth Day of April, 2017; a quiet Saturday morning ‘down on the docks’ of ye ‘ole Hyannis Haba!

ACK FM (download the ‘app’ today!), ‘Nantucket’s true island radio’, echoed off water’s edge overlooking South Hyannis Light, the sun rising once again on this ancient, magical sand bar that ‘time’ forgot.

“There’s no time!”

(credit: part time actor, full time late night comic, Mr. Liam Neeson; Ireland’s favorite son, offering up that sacred sutra in the classic Hollywood ‘blockbuster’, “Clash of the Titans”, circa 1981).

“Time” is an illusion created by man. That fact cannot be felt more keenly as one gently walks the ocean on Nantucket. Fabled indiginous stewards of the land, indeed, Wampanoag’s ‘far away island’. Surfside, Jetties, Madaket, Siasconset, Cisco beaches call out, beckoning all, bridging land and sea.

“Time and Space”…

For as one dives into the salty waters, leaving the ‘world’ behind, magnetic, electronic waves cannot reach, only the energy created by forces much more powerful than what man has devolved in this early part of the 21st Century.  Living in separate sand boxes until insight overpowers, real eyes enlighten truth connected to one beach, one water, one wave.

Alaska agrees?

‘Time’ ever separates, compartmentalizes, confuses; propelling this delusion of an ‘end’ and a ‘beginning’, when it’s all one big middle.

A journey.

Famous Figawi Sail boat race from Hyannis to Nantucket takes place in a just little while.  In the immortal words of another Hollywood heavyweight, Mathew Broderick, “Ferris Bueller”;

“…if you have the means, I would highly recommend it.  You know, booking your flight soon.  For sailing on the mighty Nantucket Sound thirty miles to said ‘far away isle’ is perhaps one of the most ‘timeless’ activities one could participate in as Spring blooms beautifully once again…”

Have a nice week end folks!
