Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the fifth day of December, 2011, another abnormally warm start to the day in the wood and mist of Cotuit, as I look out my office window at the fog bank enveloping Cotuit Bay, obscuring Oyster Harbors and the few boats remaining this late in the year… Going into the week ahead, you can rest assured the corporate media will be speaking of nothing more than the surge old ’she turned me into a Newt’, Gingrich, former DISGRACED Speaker of the House during the 1990’s, fined 300,000 bucks as he left for greener pastures on the historian/lobbyist Appalachian trail, bringing the ‘h’ back to hypocrisy in a very, very big way. Good for you Newt, your current(v) success in the Iowan polls, as well as your uptick in New Hampshire is very impressive, but, as promised, “Occupy” will retain the right to use your words of a call to janitorial services, albeit you were speaking of OUR children, poor children at that, doing such nasty services instead of, ya know, being CHILDREN!, yes, WE retain that right to take a good hard look at your RECORD and let the world know exactly who and what you truly are–an opportunistic snake oil salesman who wishes to take this country back to the Victorian age. If you really want to review some real numbers, regarding this economy, that has seen the unemployment numbers lower to 8.6 percent just this past week, perhaps some light at the end of a very dark tunnel for President Barack Obama, one must look at the number 7. 7 percent of people who are “lucky” enough to have jobs at the moment, currently possess positions that are at or above where they were before this great recession took place in 2008, while 93 percent of ‘the American people‘, credit Mitch, ‘the mouse’, McConnell (that fun lovin’ republican knucklehead, the minority leader of the Senate, hailing from the great state of Kentucky, bringin’ the crazy once again in the form of one of the tens of thousands of ‘not your grandfather’s GOP’, or, ‘the party that is boldly going nowhere‘, talking points designed to ‘fool all of the American people all of the time’), are slaves to jobs that are far beneath their level of experience, education and background, but, because of the current(v) fiscal policies of today’s GOP, are stuck with underwater mortgages, no prospects for work in their respective fields, those jobs now speaking Chinese, as they slave away working two, sometimes three jobs (“can someone say Burger King? Sure, I knew that you could”, credit the late, great Fred Rogers of PBS) just to make ends meet…,“hey, hon, did you send that republican registration back in for me? Along with my tithing to Newt’s superpac? I just love these guys?”. Numbers, as we all know from the tired old cliche, do not lie, and thus, WE all will have a choice come next November, the choice to take a giant step backwards, with the likes of a journeyman politician/lobbyist/fake historian?, or, do we look in the collective mirror and ask ourselves, perhaps this “Occupy” movement is on to something here, maybe WE should at least listen to men and women like Robert Reich, Barney Frank, Amy Goodman, Reverend Al Sharpton, or, God Forbid, the “likes” of a Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, who are simply trying to tell US the truth as to what IS really going on with our blessed nation right now, rather than what FOX NEWS does everyday, bringing the propaganda as well as anyone has in modern history, the kind of Kool-Aid that is of the slow drip variety, blinding one to the TRUTH while it steers one into hate, anger, jealousy, rage, and, sometimes, lunatic behavior by some of it’s viewership, proving once again Rupert Murdoch is one sick son of a bitch, but, somehow, somewhere, must be forgiven, for he knows not what he does… Have a nice day folks and keep calm and carry on, as the nice ornament said on “Morning Joe”, only on MSNBC, whose new ad promo is hilarious by the way, the month is young and there are still plenty of shopping days left before the big day of Christmas is upon US.
