Sea Bass 2

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:41 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket!  On another spectacular moment of a.m. here in Osterville, weather wise, I bid you and yours a fair adieu.  The Sunday morning “talk” shows offered up a smorgasbord of information that revealed little in the way of solutions, for the ones who were speaking the TRUTH barely got a word in edge wise…  George Will, baseball expert, Paul Krugman, Pulitzer Prize winning economist, and Donna Brazile, democratic strategist, offered up their best analysis in what could be described, by many, as a rift in the American culture that we once knew in the mid 19th century…the battle lines have been drawn.  George was right in regard to Afghanistan, the “Wikileaks”, and the concept that the attacks on 9/11 could have been launched from Hamburg, Germany.  The leaks we all learned about last week, are old and thus, outdated, and simply revealed what we all already KNOW, that this “war” is folly and should be brought to a stop before we commit any more of our soldiers and treasure when there are so many more pressing issues.  How can we “win” a war when we have no clear objective, and the government itself is so corrupt?  Add to that the increasing volatility in Pakistan and the Taliban forces that still reside there, and you have a situation that looks, on the surface, a lot like Vietnam.  Who are we fighting?  Define, “the enemy”. This Afghanistan government is as corrupt as the “Halliburton Loophole”, that has destroyed the EPA, circa 2005, and we have seemingly lost the fight here at home when it comes to big business raping and pillaging our own land.  It begs the question, when our own economy is in tatters, why are we spending this money on such a useless endeavor?  Paul Krugman said this about the economy and the division aforementioned, “the central issue is the debate of the philosophy of inflationists vs. deflationists.” Deflationists are right, of course, but that is not the prevailing wind in Washington, D.C..  Austerity seems to be the name of the game, for it plays into the hands of the richest 1 percent, the driving engine in this country, for their own gain, and thus, makes sense to continue to attempt to squeeze blood from a stone.  The reality is this–the only growth in this country in the past ten years has been that one percent, with their medium “incomes” rising by 278 percent, while the rest of the country, “the American people”, have only risen by less than 1 percent, slowly dipping down, as deflation reveals it was right all along.  Big business could not care less about the growth of the U.S. economy, for we now live in a global economy, and why in God’s green earth would Transocean play by the rules when they can register an oil platform to drill without a net, get it inspected, and get the green light from the “MMS”, from the Marshall Islands?  The short answer is MONEY… So, as we continue to listen to the “pundits”, look for the TRUTH behind the lies, for it is only by studying the “enemy” can we know what they are truly up to.  GOD’S SPEED to the GULF, all of the SEA TURTLES, DOLPHINS, WHALES, BROWN PELICANS, SEA BASS, the wonderful people of the Bayou, and marsh lands therein… Have a great week folks!  Peace~M
