Release the Hounds!
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the soggy, foggy, boggy, pleasantly balmy island of Nantucket! Very good to be with you on a Thursday morning here at the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s)–The Seventeenth Day of December, 2015–and as mentioned in the intro, ’tis a good day for ducks once again… Of course, those ducks waking early ‘gettin’ the worm’! However, it is equally true there is always enough for even those lazy, dumber ducks who sleep in, for the last time I checked, the Spirit of the Season allows for even the meanest of duck realm to bend and allow those weaker to feed in the pond with the rest of the crew…
Just ask Ebenezer Scrooge, he’ll tell ya!
Sea Cape Cod would like to wish ALL a Merry Christmas! (or Happy Holidays!, Happy Hanukkah!, Happy Passover!, Happy Ramadan?, or even the Jerry Seinfeld creation, or was it Larry David’s Merry Festivas?! Heck fire, giving that LOVE to wherever it is destined…),and a Happy New Year! A message that will be repeated, God Willing, on this simple, independent network, a few more times for those three or four individuals actually tuning in to this ‘message in a bottle’ as it were. A message offering photographic reflections of ‘tumultuous times in the collective human experience during the first part of this 21st Century’; moreover, recording and documenting the extraordinary beauty that is this little sand bar created by ‘the Last Great Ice Age’ over 11,500 years ago…
A destination spot where presidents. kings, lords, dukes, duchesses, queens and princesses vacation. Case in point, this nations’ fine President Barack Obama, and his wonderful family; Happy Holidays! The First Family summering on the island in August many times, taking in the historic towns of Chilmark, Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, Tisbury, Oak Bluffs, Gay Head and Menemsha. All part and parcel of the great island of Martha’s Vineyard, named after Captain Gosnold’s daughter, Martha. An island that was discovered way, way back in the early 1600’s. A simpler time, yes? No? I’m not sure?
Indeed, this country has seen a whole lot of change over the decades, lo centuries, yet in the grand scheme of things, it is a very young nation when compared historically significant civilizations that date back to this aforementioned ‘time frame’ of that pesky ice age. My four legged buddies pictured above in the fair town of Osterville couldn’t agree more. Woof! So until next time, stay safe dear reader! And enjoy this thing called Life! Keeping in mind that it is, after all is said and done, ‘just a ride’. (credit the late, great Bill Hicks). Thank you so much for tuning in, during this very ‘high energy’ year of 2015! I sure do appreciate it!
I hope you and yours have a safe, joyful, peaceful, plentiful and blessed holiday season. Ever keeping LOVE at the center of one’s heart.
PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
