Redemption?

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:24 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the golden sun laden, breezy, beautiful, ‘dang near perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday morning–the 29th day of May, 2015–a gorgeous one out on the Hyannis/Hyannis Port Waterfront(s), bidding you all a fair and fine adieu.  This Saturday, Hyannis Port will host “Best Buddies” bike race from Boston to Craigville Beach in Centerville, here on Cape, with Patriot’s quarterback and winning Superbowl Champion Tom Brady in attendance once again, raising money for kids with mental challenges.  Truly a heartwarming experience and if you like to bike, then this is your venue!

Here is hoping you all have a great week end, with an ever watchful eye to the sky (our prayers and thoughts go out to the victims of that biblical flooding that took place over the course of this past week in Texas, Oklahoma and northern Mexico); the weather a changin’ as fast as the transformation of the human consciousness, although for some here at Sea Cape Cod, that change is not coming nearly fast enough.

Take, for example, our pal, our ’spiritual guru’ at “Focus on the Family” (founded in 1977 out of Colorado Springs, CO), Mr. James Dobson, whose brand of Christianity is so out far of whack it would take a thousand chiropractors to straighten him out.

The Project for the American Way–dedicated to monitoring and exposing the activities of the right wing movement–made some observations, via Brian Tashman, recently regarding old Jimbo’s view on say, oh, I don’t know, gay marriage.  Yes, indeed, that “abomination” and most deadly sin, just like it ’says’ in the Bible.  You know, the ‘true’ word of God.  He tells his millions of sheep around the world that “…the gay rights issue has reached an unprecedented level of intensity (sounds hot Jimmy!), and put the country on the brink of conflict.  Talk about a Civil War, we could have another one over this.”

Go on dear holy man, please continue…

“The country can be no stronger than it’s families.  I really believe if what the Supreme Court is about to do is carried through with, and it looks like it will be, then we’re going to see a general collapse in the next decade or two. (sure you’re not thinking about another imminent banking crisis genius?) So we need to do everything we can to try and hold it back and preserve the institution of marriage.”

Mr. James Dobson has hurt, nay, at times mortally wounded many, many teenage lives over the years, with his insane methods of ‘restoring normality’ to a gay person’s life.  He methods?  The insane (debunked by all credible U.S. medical and psychological associations), suppressing of natural sexual tendencies that has led to so many teen suicides across this ‘loving’ nation.  James Dobson’s intolerance and hate speech is the problem; his bloated and insane ego adding fuel to an already out of control fire.

Focus on the Family is nothing more than a hate group when they’re former “leader”–who claims to know the word and intention of God himself–destroys said real word of GOD every time it opens it’s mouth.  The mostly forgotten and rarely practiced words from 2015 plus years ago, emanating from a humble man from the Nazarene, being those real words designed to truly free one from the bondage of this world’s evil.

Not the words cherry picked from the Book of Leviticus, words like “abomination” that, many moons ago, simply meant “not customary”, and that death by stoning also applied to killing and eating a rabbit.  It reads like that in the King James Bible, a book written by human beings that had control, power and greed on the mind, yes, it reads like many things, but alas it is not all the true word of God…

No sir.

Once one puts that sacred text in context (culturally and historically), the logic of old Jimbo’s argument falls apart like a bad Wall Street derivative.

The Bible is too often used as a weapon, and, just like in the dark ages when it was conceived, this ‘word of God’ is nothing more than said weapon to wield over the ‘unclean’ masses, bringing them to ‘the light’ of what they and their egos want said masses to behave, talk, and ultimately serve like.  Keeping those masses in the dark, poor and sick. Far, far away from that true word of God–whatever you conceive that word to mean–is the whole bloody point!.  Just ask the guys during the Christian Crusades, they’ll tell ya!

If it doesn’t think, “believe” and behave like you, then it is that dreaded ‘other’ and “it” must be destroyed.  Even though that “it” is actually a part of YOU!  That is your message, is it not Mr. Dobson?

Have a wonderful week end folks and steer clear of groups that claim to speak for “God”.

Love and God are synonymous.

“What you do to the least of US you do unto me.” JC

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
