“Pops” by the SEA…

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:28 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cooler, sun dripped, breezy, easy, sleepy island of Nantucket! Great to be back with you on this still rather humid Monday morning, ‘down on the docks’, The Fifteenth Day of August, 2016. “Broadcasting” LIVE once again from this quiet Hyannis Harbor after a very busy week end that included “Pops by the Sea”, brought to you by the famous “Boston Pops” orchestra conducted aptly by one great maestro; the name Lockhart, Keith Lockhart.

Indeed, yesterday, this “humble”? ‘reporter’ took a long, long walk/run/swim/bike all up and down the southern shores of this little sand bar that ‘time’ forgot, lo, on the hottest day yet this year, temperatures well into the mid-90’s, stumbling across thousands of people standing in line on Main Street waiting to get in to the Village Green to witness this annual event.  Later that evening, sitting on the deck, enjoying a beautiful sunset, a warm sultry breeze blowing in from the south, one could hear those magical strings emanating from the viola, violin and cello; ushering in some sanity in an otherwise insane world…

The universal, haunting, hallowed sounds of classical music are rarely heard in this day and age, especially when played by the sea…

Have a great week ahead folks!
