Piping Plovers passing…
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the humid, partly sunny, very warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning–the 31st day of August, 2015–looking up, one may take note of “the Piping Plover family” summering down at Dowses Beach in Osterville. Having once again successfully mated, fed, ‘entertained’, thus ‘raised’ and sent their ‘kids’ off the college, hopefully giving them the roots to grow and the wings to FLY! Good Luck to all the those other ‘kids’ out there going back to find some KNOWLEDGE in the many varied institutions of higher learning here in the United States and beyond. May that access, moreover absorption and application of said knowledge=power, be embraced and exercised with all of your might. One may never know when it may be needed in this wicked world we live in today…
Of course, so many young people never get that chance to soar, to self-actualize and reach their own full potential. Not even close! Never climbing out of the man made (by design) urban jungles that haunt all of OUR lives; none so much as those living hand to mouth day in and day out, little to no Hope, Love, or Joy. For they are the forgotten ones, the ‘people on the margins’ that are nothing more than a passing collective sigh, releasing the collective guilt most of US must feel deep down within our very core. That is, if one’s soul is still intact. Their children living in a world reflecting “third world conditions’ (”emerging nations”=exploited nations) back at them at best; Nazi Germany genocidal camp conditions at the worst. Being gassed day in a day out by with unregulated chemicals, toxins and deadly vapors from a robotic multinational “industry”, spewing all of that filth into the sky like it was an open sewer. We cannot pretend any longer that this is, “…One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.
Because it isn’t.
Life and thus politics in the United States has become a reality television show that blurs that line between what is real and what is an illusion. We ‘think’ that a billionaire playboy like Donald Trump would ‘be a man of the people’, but who can really be a man of the people when phoning it in from the top of your tower in Gotham?
The real leaders and eventual presidents of future America, if it lasts, will care nothing of ego, thus the pomp and circumstance of it all. For it is not about the single achievement of one man (or woman), it is about how well they can function as a leader that will solve the very real problems this country and world face. It is about the greater good, a macro resource based economy approach that must end this insane run on the planet we all call home for the moment; standing up with courage, resolve and reason for our kids’, kids’ kids!.
Who else is going to do that?
