Patriot’s Day!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 1:02 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the still foggy, soggy, saturated island of Nantucket!  Thanks for ‘tuning in’ to ‘ye ‘ole watery essay, on this Fifteenth Day of April, 2019, Monday, “Patriot’s Day” in this blessed state of Massachusetts.  God Bless America!  Indeed.

Yes, this is a ’state’ holiday here in said original hub of this newly formed land only 123 plus years ago.  In the 123 running of this famous Marathon.  From 1897 to 1969, and even today, here in 2019, the Boston Marathon, hence Patriots’ Day, revered in Maine and Massachusetts in ‘the day’, has held great awe for all who long to tread those 26. some odd miles of pure hell, at least for this humble ‘writer’…

Today’s winner, Kenya’s great Lawrence Cherono, won despite a great effort from nearby country, Ethiopia, Lelisa Desisa, who truly fought it out to it’s human and spiritual limit.

You want athletes;

just go to Boston.

That is where it’s at.

God Bless this great country!
