Paper Plutocracy

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 7:41 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket!  On this beautiful morning here in Osterville, I thought I might share some of the brilliant insight and inspiration recently offered by one of my favorite members of the Senate, Mr. Joe, “I’m not a cartoon character”, Lieberman (I-CT).  He is such a sweetheart, so full of compassion and a state of grace so  rarely witnessed in a human being, especially in this day and age…  Jonathon Turley, a constitutional law professor at George Washington University in Washington D.C., agrees with my assessment of Mr. Lieberman and his attempts to put this country on track for the revival of philosophies offered by past historical monsters like Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hitler.  He agrees with the general sentiment that Joe, “say it ain’t so”, Lieberman is a social terrorist.  His recent drudging up of an old provision dating back to the early 19th century, whereupon “citizenship” in the United States could be stripped, has taken the media by storm.  This all due to the recent placement of a bomb at Time Square in New York City.  The law was retracted, yet there was another provision that left some wiggle room designed to deal with some individuals (Confederates left over from the Civil War) who may have still brought some type of insurrection to the fragile Union of this great country.  Therefore, if they were involved in such activity, the powers that were could strip them of their United States citizenship.  Sounds logical, right?  However, that was over 150 years ago…yet,  Joe, “somebody throw me a life preserver”, Lieberman has recently found the insight to bring this antique law back to life for purely political reasons, well done sir!  This is very real, as Lieberman has brought this “law” to the floor of the Senate for not only debate, but to hopefully write the bill into law.  The basic premise of this absurdity is that, “if a U.S. citizen is suspected (a very wide interpretation) of being affiliated in any way with what this, or any future administration, deems as a terrorist organization, they could be stripped of their U.S. citizenship.”  Let us follow the logic of Mr. Magoo shall we?  I wonder… I grew up in the fair state of Connecticut, my mother, sister, nieces and nephews all live there, and thus, because of that connection and the fact that Mr. Lieberman is now a Senator from that state combined with the fact that I believe Lieberman and the “party of no” are indeed, social terrorists–it would stand to Lieberman’s reasoning that because I have a loose affiliation with the state of Connecticut and thus, a terrorist organization like the P.O.N. (because they do business in Connecticut), that I too should be stripped of my United States citizenship.  Bravo Mr. Senator!  You really cracked the case and saved the United States from the evil terrorists this time, while you systematically and simultaneously destroy everything good that still exists in the United States of America–via turning a complete blind eye to the fact that planet earth is melting, being in bed with big banking, big insurance and big oil, and being a weasel of the first order (my apologies to any real life weasels reading this blog). Mr. Joe, “say it ain’t so”, Lieberman has brought forth a logic (and the logic of his corporate masters) to the level of the village idiot.  You sir, are a moron.  If you might indulge a quote from the late, great Jimmy Stewart, “you are nothing more than a scurvy little spider, and that goes for you too (the rest of the P.O.N.), and YOU TOO (the corporate plutocracy, i.e., big banks, big insurance, big oil, big coal, and all of the other big LIES out there)… Have a great week end folks!  Peace~ M
