Osterville Magic

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:22 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the seventh day of February, 2011, a beautiful one here on the Cape, Osterville to be precise, as I just returned from the famous “Dowses Beach”, actually I was at “Roland’s Beach”, and witnessed a perfect sunrise, on a perfect winter morning, with several fair weather clouds present, adding to the dynamic lighting of the Cape, combining with calm winds and seas.  The image you see above you was taken only a few moments ago, roughly 7 a.m., on the corner of Wianno and Seaview Avenues, should you ever venture to this “neck of the woods”.  So come on down,”we’ll leave the LIGHT on for ya!”  With the temperature in the Middle East going down a few notches, Washington D.C. will be busy this week slashing budgets that must be accomplished for the upcoming fiscal year.  One budget we won’t see cut will be that of the Pentagon, for that over bloated military industrial complex is just one big ear mark to countless sub contractors, i.e., corporations, who have inside deals with politicians in various states scattered all over this country, creating new weapons that we don’t need–while millions of common Americans are going hungry and are living upside down, in “underwater” homes, for after the vultures of Wall Street took their cut after the bubble burst on the housing market, driven by predatory lending that STARTED on Wall Street with firms like Goldman Sachs, the value of their homes are now worth much less than when they bought it, all while paying outrageous mortgages that no one quite knows who the paper belongs to, as most of those are as toxic as the sludge on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, an oil and dispersant (Corexit 3500) mixture, five inches deep, covering tens of thousands of square “underwater”, and thus, out of sight, acreage, where no living thing, microscopic organisms that make up the building blocks of our food chain, can live, as they are attempting to live in water that has no oxygen,  all courtesy of bp, and Tony, “gone sailin’” Hayward, who, thank GOD, finally has his “life” back.  Ah, the American way, stick it to the most vulnerable of the “citizens”, people without a voice, while the most powerful lobbies in Washington work round the clock pushing for their master’s TRUE agenda–PROFIT OVER PEOPLE. I don’t know if you have had the opportunity to watch “Gasland”, on HBO, a documentary that shines a white hot spotlight on the “natural gas” industry and how they are systematically raping a pillaging our lands–public lands at that (see “public land trusts” in the state of Wyoming, and how, in 2005, Dick Cheney opened up land that belongs to you and me, literally, by convincing congress to allow corporate shysters, such as Halliburton, where Cheney was formerly the CEO of, and KOCH Industries, to drill for that “natural gas” without limit), and thus, by doing so, have ripped this country apart, real American lives apart, causing sickness and even death, via the 596 chemicals used in the “fracking” process to attain the “natural gas” from the shale that it is trapped within–yes, I obviously don’t know if you have, but you should, it will blow you away.  Take the New York State “watershed” for example. 18 plus million people in the New York City, Philadelphia and New Jersey metropolitan areas depend upon that clean source of water coming from the Adirondack mountain range, far to the north of the city.  The plan, not yet implemented, is to allow these creatures from hell, to descend upon the unsuspecting masses and create the same thing that is currently happening in say, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where there are over 15,000 of these wells polluting the whole region.  Wells that are not only destroying the fresh water surrounding that American metropolitan area, as a quarter of the “processed water” (as they call it in the ‘biz) simply seeps into the ground, chalk full of those 596 deadly chemicals, but, those same companies, are also spewing air born toxins, to the tune of 1.2 times the amount of emissions from all of the planes, trains and automobiles in that area, into neighborhoods, farm lands and well, everywhere–affecting people, plants and animals that apparently have no value to these true villains of “this land is your land, this land is my land, from California, to the New York Island, from the Redwood forests, to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made for you and me…” This documentary shows what WE are truly up against–a monolithic, faceless, nameless, and vicious (to the general public) number of companies that are the true boogie men of our time, real boogie men,  who are destroying our country, our planet and our way of life.  Hell, who needs all of these horror movies that are coming out now, en masse, from Hollywood, when you simply have to go to the Western slopes of Colorado to see the true horror.   When this story becomes headline news, only a few short years from now, when people in the high priced restaurants can no longer drink the best tap water in the world, ironically from the largest city in the country, because people are getting sick, there will be HELL to pay.  The dentist who worked on the teeth of the EPA, in 2005, stripping out the “clean drinking water act” completely it seems, must have been a relative of the evil dentist in the Dustin Hoffman film, “The Running Man”, as he creepily asks the regulator, who makes minimum wage, “Is it safe?” “What the American public don’t know, won’t hurt ‘em”, or better yet, “Shana, they bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into, I say let ‘em crash..,” (credit SNL circa 1976) seems to be the running mantra of the republican party, and as the Affordable Health Care LAW butts up against the suspect Supreme Court, and we all know where that vote may go, “just ask the Justices about the Citizens United case, they’ll tell ya!”, the republican puppet show won’t have to worry about the masses getting sick and taking profits from the corrupt insurance industry, for they will have no access and thus, can simply die of “natural causes”, for the 596 chemicals that these monsters are putting into the ground could not have had anything to do with the poor people of Colorado, take Rifle for example, on the western slope just up I-70 from Grand Junction, who are suffering from unexplained LESIONS in their brains, where some can no longer smell or taste, or suffer from constant headaches and pains running throughout their bodies, yes, all of those horrible clouds of poisonous gas that hover from the “natural gas” wells, as it floats over the houses of families whose children play in the shadows of the drilling towers, could not have anything to do with those children getting sick, not developing properly, and literally having their lives stolen from them, could it?  We live in a sick, seditious society where lawyers, guns and money seem to rule the day.  The common man, much like the common man in Egypt, simply wants the opportunity to LIVE his or her life with dignity, safety and respect, comforted by knowing that these now, “citizens”, i.e. corporations, are playing by the same rules as they have been their entire lives, for generations.  One cowboy, a cattle rancher in Colorado whose family has lived on this land, God’s country, for generations, put it this way, “we have to do something about these assh@les!” I could not have put it better myself.  Have a wonderful day folks and may GOD’s continued grace be upon the people of Egypt and the United States, as we head into yet another week of common human conflict, needless conflict at that.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
