Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, windy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday morning, the third day of February, 2012, a cool one on Cape, seasonal if you will excuse the passe expression, and I pray that you and yours are having a good one as the nation gets ready to turn on it’s collective television sets on Sunday for Super Bowl XXXXVI, where it is estimated that more people will watch that game, starting with the ‘pregame’ show at 2, with the actual kickoff at 6:33 p.m., than any other television program offered up by this all encompassing, mind controlling electronic device in modern day history. Go Patriots! Soft news day around D.C., as the republican race to the bottom has finalized after Mitt, “I’m really not all that concerned with poor people”, Romney all but sewing up the nomination, even with poor old Newt still nipping at this heals. Ruff! But, now without all the ‘fighting’, it will be like taking away heroine from an addict for many political junkies like myself out there, and I know I am not alone, for how much fun have these debates been for everyone? Really? You had the gunslinger, the pizza man, the ‘historian’, ‘Mary Anne’, sorry, no Ginger, and, well, I believe you get the point, as we look to our new ‘leader’ Mitt Romney who proposes to take this country on a three hour tour to hell, via his plutocratic visions of corporate takeovers, slashing health care access for poor women, as in Planned Parenthood (of which only 3 percent involve abortions), and sink the veritable U.S. ship, even as she is getting back on course–a very bad course indeed that his ’strategists’, ‘men’ like Frank Luntz or Karl Rove, (’the professors’ who are supposedly so smart that they can make a radio out of a pineapple, but can’t seem to fix a hole in a boat, i.e. their moral compass and basic grasp of logic!), have set up for him, under the direction of the plutocratic elite…a real life nightmare for ‘the American people’ (credit Mitch McConnell, R-KY), or at least those who are not on Donald Trump’s guest list for next year’s regatta at South Street Seaport in New York City. My prayer is simple--WAKE UP AMERICA! These snake oil salesmen could not get a job as a janitor in a church, let alone enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, for as Jesus himself said, whom they, the republicans ‘believe’ in with all of their hearts, souls and minds, “It is easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven…”. 2000 years ago, an ‘eye of a needle’ was a passage way, common in many of the ancient structures then, very narrow and almost impossible for a thin man to pass through, let alone a giant camel, kicking, spitting and hissing all the way through the metaphorical process. You cannot take it with you, the only ‘thing’ you do take is the LOVE you made on this planet, through good deeds, amendments, charity KINDNESS and good work that benefits the GREATER GOOD. Since when did the Mormon faith abandon the poor in favor of creating more ‘eyes’ that act as barriers to that which they covet so dear?, i.e, THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. The Kingdom of Heaven is already here on planet earth, but men are too blind to see it all around them, blinded by so many different reasons, mostly the lust for money and power, thus too blind to truly sea. Have a nice week end folks and don’t worry about those side effects you may have picked up from watching too much FOX ‘NEWS’, they are treatable and covered under the new Affordable Health Care LAW passed by the very fine President Barack Obama, with benefits kicking in every day for the growing number of ‘those poor people’, many of whom are newly poor, as the middle class, thanks to ‘trickle down economics’ or voodoo economics, joins their ranks…yes, by all means, let us vote for Mitt!! A really nice guy who truly has his ‘Christian’ values in order! “Hope it’s a nice coffee shop Jack.” (credit the classic film, starring Charles Grodin and Robert De Niro,“Midnight Run”).
