“Ooops”
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, calm, warm, gosh darn near perfect island of Nantucket! Great to be with you. A stunning day on Cape, this 17th day of May, 2015, Sunday, as the tourists flock in from points as far away as New Zealand, China and Timbuktu. We all are grateful for their presence, bringing this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the “Last Great Ice Age” back to life once again, after the long, cold and dark winter…
Even though I am not ‘from around these here parts’, an original ‘wash ashore’ as the locals like to call my kind, one might assume a writer would know when the 29th annual “Figawi” sailboat race from Hyannis to Nantucket takes place. The cameras were all set up yesterday bright and early at Kalmus Beach but alas, there were no boats. Figawi is Memorial Day week end. In the immortal words of Rick Perry–the maple syrup lovin’ Senator hailing from the great state of Texas(R),
“…Ooops”.
Please do not let this slip up undermine your confidence in Sea Cape Cod.
My apologies for stretching the truth on occasion; or just for being just a little ahead of ‘my time’. WE all know that the daily sin committed against our one and only ‘home’ for the moment cannot be sustained for very much longer. There is still a chance, albeit a small one, to save not only this planet, but this little 239 year old experiment (democracy with that little letter ‘d’) called “The United States of America”. A country, lest we forget, that was birthed because it bucked the concept and consequences of a MONARCHY.
What do you think is going on in Washington D.C. at this very instant?
Exactly.
Have a beautiful Sunday folks!
PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
