November Morning
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this very cold morning here on Cape, the chilliest morning since April of last year, with the stars out in full force in a final salute to Ken Sorensen, who passed away this week end at the age of 82. Mr. Sorensen was, of course, Jack Kennedy’s speech writer, as well as “intellectual counterpart”, Presidential advisor and political strategist, whose words inspired an entire nation such as in the famous speech Kennedy gave at his inaugural address to the country when he said, “ask not what this country can do for you, ask what YOU can do for this country…” His humble mid-west background offered the polar opposite of where Jack and Bobby, along with the rest of that fabled family, lived, worked and played–in the yards of Harvard, Hyannisport and the halls of power throughout the world. He will be missed in this world of crack like entertainment posing as news and commentary, devoid of any REASON, grace and civility, sadly missing in our country that is screaming out for a leader who will deliver them from the wolves of industry and profit, the corporate milieu, hell bent on gaining back power through a mish mash of puppets posing as politicians who are genuinely, with good reason, afraid of the media and the very real questions their readers WANT ANSWERED–we are talking to you Ms. “ANGLE”… One day left before the mid-term elections of 2010, pivotal elections, that will determine the direction of this “United” States and the well being of the people it serves. You had to have a strong stomach to watch some of the video provided by men and women far braver than I, as I watched Sarah, “I shoot innocent wolves from the comfort of my helicopter,” Palin speak, if you can call it that for it sounded more like a screech to me, to the “bad” men at Politico, a news organization, who broke the story over the week end regarding her bid to become the next President of the United States of America… I know, I know, the mid-term elections are not even done with yet, but listening to sister Sarah “speak” or rather squawk, about how badly she was hurt by some blind reports that some leaders in the GOP see her as a nightmare scenario for the republicans over the long haul and stating that she brings an “anti-intellectual” component to the equation, that will ultimately turn off anyone with an education that is higher than the sixth grade level, is just not fair… welcome to reality sister, for you ARE a hack and don’t belong on a world stage that sees you as nothing more than a joke, a footnote in history, bringing your junior high school mentality to a place that needs real leaders like Jack Kennedy now more than ever. As we look towards tomorrow and realize that we will have John, “Billy Bob”, Boehner as our next Speaker of the House, third in line to the Presidency–a man who does not believe in GLOBAL WARMING, social justice, regulations of any kind, social safety nets, and has no problem being a puppet to the coming PLUTOCRACY, a true turncoat via his nonsensical “Lemon Pledge with America” (credit Keith Olbermann)–we can all see the writing on the wall. 60 Minutes had a piece last night on a little town in Iowa, a town that resembled a real ghost town, with businesses that once were booming, such as the Maytag factory, in the town it was born in over 100 years ago, empty, along with the car dealerships, the drug stores, grocery stores and just about every other small business you can think of–EMPTY and gathering dust. How can John, or Billy Bob, sleep at night when he speaks of “the American People”? He does not give a damn about the American people for if he did, he would not be a part of the literal hijacking of our democracy via multi-national corporations that now have a green light to really step it up and finish the job of completely destroying the America we all once knew and were proud of. The intense “redistribution of wealth,” that the republicans always speak of and get their ignorant “base” all fired up about, has gone, in the past 30 years, in only one direction–towards the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans who seem to have forgotten where they all came from suddenly, and are on that “Stairway to Heaven” where their shadows are taller than their souls. The republican strategists, like Karl Rove, have demonstrated a unique ability to manipulate and mold the anger and fear through specific talking points that act as a gospel of sorts, never going off “message” even when asked a direct question by a quality reporter, always answering in a robotic, monotone voice, “see the thing is we have to get a handle on this run away spending, we have to get a handle on the deficit, we have to create more jobs…it is like a parrot, or a broken record player playing an old ‘45 with the voice of Ronald Reagan saying the same thing over and over again, ad nauseum. Of course, we don’t know what they will do to put a dent in the 1.3 trillion dollar deficit, for even if they cut the things that someone cornered them into saying they would cut, it amounts to less than 50 billion dollars, less than the proverbial drop in bucket. The United Kingdom began it’s austerity program the right way by slashing the defense budget by 20 percent, a good start, for if we only took half of that number, we would see HUGE changes in the deficit and a move away from the never ending war this country has seemingly built itself on since the aftermath of World War II–what President Dwight D. Eisenhower called “the military industrial complex…” Republicorp, and the puppets that will be “heading it up” is not interested in fixing our daunting problems in this country, for they don’t care about this country or it’s citizens, and have fooled the “American People” into believing “they”, the wolves, are the “good Americans”, while the democrats, are the Nazi socialistic tree huggers who will take this country down with their good deeds and humanitarian ways. They have fooled the American people, using their anger, hate, bigotry, blatant racism and FEAR to their advantage and thus, OWN them, manipulating them into a false sense of security that things in this country will improve, when their bosses, “the men behind the curtain”, i.e. mulit-national corporations, billionaire brothers like the David and Charles Koch and the like, have no intention on pulling this country away from any dangerous cliffs, rather, they wish to use the country as their playground of profit, raping and pillaging our environment as they go along and passing any blame on to the President and his “Stalin” like ways…projection has nothing on you guys, huh? When you see the monsters come out from under the bed in this nation of ours, via investigation after investigation as to the validity of our very excellent President, Barrack Obama, the re-emergence of non-regulation, and the systematic dismantling of our Constitution via the high priced lobbyists who will be hired by the puppets themselves, along with their lawyers, we will see more suffering in this country than we saw during the GREAT DEPRESSION…mark my words. You and your family can avoid all of that if you VOTE tomorrow and bring a friend with you, for this is not over and the SPIRIT of Jack Kennedy, along with Bobby and Ted Sorensen, is alive and well, for LIGHT never dies, only ignorance, hate, and fear, for they were illusions to begin with, and that is what the Republicans are really afraid of, their own words and the FAITH they carry around like a union card, “What you do to the least of my brothers, you DO UNTO ME.” May GOD HELP THIS NATION!
