‘no one’

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:57 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the golden sun dripped, blue skied, freshly breeze led, cool, calm, collected island of Nantucket! Good to be with you on a sleepy Sunday morning, broadcasting LIVE from this beautiful sand bar that “time” has let be, a feeling that is shared by all who visit.  And those who live, laugh and love in and around these blessed waters.  On this Twenty-Eighth Day of August, 2016, this humble reporter would simply remind those who have left their Heart in Hyannis–back to ‘the grind’ of this fabulous modern life we put up with currently, most likely in a cold, calculated, callous, cunning, cut throat city–you are not alone.

The late, great John Denver (composer, musician, father, son, brother, friend; December 31, 1943-October 12, 1997), towards the end of his celebrated life, wrote a song that perhaps many have not heard.  The work speaks to those who have experienced the isolation of being thrown into the mix of this fast paced, inhuman, molded matrix, the high risen coldness of secret cement, devoid of the human heart, touch and soul.  Just keep in mind that this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by ‘The Last Great Ice Age’, will always be here.  A promise of peace in a mad world we are ALL inimitably wrapped up in?

“No One”

‘I came into this lovely city, about three weeks ago today.  And I’m trying to find someone I can talk to…, a friendly face to turn my way…

I walk the streets in silent sorrow.  I walk my feet into the ground.  And all I see are cloudy, cold suspicious faces, swear to God it brings me down.

Is there no one with a smile for me?  No one with a hello, in their eyes?

Is there no one who will hug me?  And hold me in the dark and lonely night?

The parks are green, and full of flowers…  And lovers lying on the lawn.

I wish I had a lady here I could laugh with, Jesus Christ it hurts me to be alone.

Is there no one with a smile for me, no one with a hello in their eyes?

Is there no one who will love me?  And help me through the cold and lonely night?

(singin’ la, la, la, la, la, la, la….)

This life is hard and full of trouble.  It’s painful just to live from day to day…  But if you’re weary and afraid, don’t turn away now, there’s no reason we have to feel this way.

Is there no one who will smile for me?  No one with a hello in their eyes?  Is there no one who will love me, and help me through the cold and lonely night?

(singin’ la, la, la, la, la, la, la…)

I just need someone to talk to, it hurts me to be alone.  I just need someone to laugh with, it hurts to be alone…

I just want someone to love me, I need someone to talk to,

and it hurts to be

alone.

singing la, la, la, la, la,

la.’

…we’ll leave the LIGHT on for ya!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
