NE Pats #1!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:09 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the snowy, windy, cold island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Monday morning, the second day of February, 2015, “Groundhog Day” here in the United States, as New England braces for yet another winter storm that will allot another foot of snow to Boston proper; a little more to the north, a little less to the south, with temperatures expected to drop into the sub zero range by this time tomorrow, “…did you want to talk about the weather or just chit chat?” (credit, once again, the classic film, “Groundhog Day”, starring the great Bill Murray & Andie Macdowell, circa 1993)…

The New England Patriots are Super Bowl champions once again today as they defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 last night in Phoenix, Arizona, a really exciting barn burner of a dream NFL match-up that lasted right up until the last second, culminating with a New England rookie corner (Butler), intercepting Seahawk’s Russell Wilson, essentially winning the game for the Patriots with time running out, as Seattle was about to score a touchdown and go ahead for good.  Miracles do happen…

Tom Brady was the MVP, throwing four touchdown passes to go along with his four Super Bowl rings, a feat only done by one other quarterback, another favorite of Sea Cape Cod, San Francisco 49′ers Joe Montana, who also won four Super Bowl titles before retiring in style on the left coast.  Many, including this reporter, drawing comparisons and analysis as to who is the very best of all time? (p.s. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had a lot to do with that success, his coaching placing him in the record books as well, being the only other head coach to win four Super Bowl titles).

For right now, both (Tom Brady and Joe Montana) equal in my eyes; both winners of the highest order!

Congratulations to all the fans in the New England area too, men, women and children (and pets!), who live, breathe and die for their New England football team who has, since owner Robert Kraft took over fourteen years ago, been of fire, appearing in six of those Super Bowls winning four.  Congratulations and thank you to Bob Kraft, may you continue to have much success sir!

There is little doubt about the greatness of this team, despite the ‘controversy’ involving a game where the Patriots blew out there opponent by almost forty points!  I thought that was put to bed the other day, Matt Damon and other “Southies” taking the fall for those ‘deflated’ balls!  So let the haters hate, but let that not blind you from the JOY that comes from WINNING big time against all odds!  Cheers!

So to all of New England Patriot’s Nation, especially right here on little old Cape Cod, may you celebrate the day and the win; it was ‘wicked awesome’ and may there be many Happy Returns!

Have a great day and week ahead everybody!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
