Nantucket Christmas Basket

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:31 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the grey, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Tuesday morning, the twentieth day of December, 2011, just a few shopping days left before the big day of Christmas, celebrating the birth of a man who most say was also spirit, here for a brief ‘time’ on earth to communicate the words and express the Love coming from our Creator Himself.  It’s funny how mankind uses those words for his benefit today, over 2000 years later, ironically in much the same way they used those same words against him back ‘then’, embracing a political system that fashions itself much like Rome, with a huge wealth Grand Canyon and opportunity gap evident for ALL to see, hear, taste, touch, and most of all feel, as many say that ‘these here United States of America now mirrors Rome as it was during this period when Christ walked the earth.  Politics has not changed much since the days of King Herod, nor are they likely to in this upcoming election in the year of our Lord, 2012, for power, money and the lust for it are far more important (riches on this earth, short sighted) than walking the talk of the man whose words they supposedly worship, spouting nonsense such as ‘corporations are people too’, and ‘poor people have no work ethic…’–you try living on 110 bucks a month of food stamps “Newt” and get back to me on ‘work ethic’!  Are you referring to the 1.6 mil you received from a corrupt housing giant named Freddie Mac for ‘historical consulting advice’? Right before that advice blew up in the face of the worst housing/financial meltdown in U.S. history, next to the Great Depression eighty some odd years ago?  Are those the kind of ethics you speak of sir?  Did the congress simply fine you 300,000 dollars and show you the door during the 1990’s because of some misunderstanding?  Ethics?  I suggest, this holiday season, for your penance as a newly converted Catholic and, for being such a nuisance and bothering the whole of the journalism community for this past month and a half, you pick up a ladle and head on over to the local homeless shelter.  After serving the poor, dispossessed, and down and out ’scumbags’ dinner (you so often refer to the poor as), you can go into the filthy bathroom, pick up a mop and start cleaning, directly after scrubbing, sterilizing, and disinfecting (credit Ted Knight from the classic 1978 film, “Caddyshack”) the toilets you would have poor school children clean, children who deserve just as much of a break as any of Mitt Romney’s kids, your kids, or any of your country club brethren’s kids, for the words of the man whose Roman sponsored religion, ironically, you supposedly converted over to, Jesus, ring as true now as they did 2011 years ago on Calvary Mountain, when referring to a CLOWN like yourself, “…what you do to the least of me, you do UNTO me”, while WE all hopefully apply yet another prayer by that Prince of Peace, his last this ‘time’ around–”Forgive them Father, they know not what they do…”  Have a nice day folks, hopefully dodging those wooden nickles offered up by the choice of hate, fear and insanity, FOX ‘NEWS’, with half of America unfortunately addicted to the Kool-Aid propaganda poo poo, as“…they got the bubble headed bleach blonde comin’ on at five, tellin’ you ’bout the plane crash, with a gleam in her eye.” (credit, again, ‘The Eagles’ Don Henley).  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
