Morning Vigil
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket! With a very heavy heart I am writing to you on this Sunday morning, a very dark day, yet again, in our nation’s history, a history that is seemingly being torn apart by vitriolic anger and hate, promoted from “on high”, and yet, increasingly ignored as we move into an ever becoming INTOLERANT nation–a nation of immigrants, a FACT, whether you believe it or not. You have all heard the news of a 22 year old gunman who, sparked on by that hate and anger, took a gun out at a political rally in Tuscon, Arizona yesterday and took the lives of six people, one of whom, was almost a congresswomen from the great state of Arizona. In that bloody rampage, this young, disturbed, disturbed perhaps, via our deaf ears to children’s cries for help, blinded in our “blind” society, yes, in that bloody rampage, this young man took the lives of a little 9 year old girl, a judge, a man who was about to be married and almost the life of a very EXCELLENT woman who understood what it really still means to be a representative of the PEOPLE! We can all just take this recent act of violence as just another sign that the dark cloud of evil and greed has taken hold of all of our souls…but, I don’t buy that. In fact, I think this tragedy will do quite the opposite. It may serve to WAKE US UP to the very real core problem that sits like pond scum on the surface of a pristine, blue mountain lake–and that problem being the forced “Sarah Palin” type “second amendment remedies” that are being thrown into the stratosphere, wherein, unstable, angry, mostly white “American males” are taking that red meat and “taking the LAW” into their own hands, and, in the process, taking innocent lives that will be missed forever. I am here to tell the FOX News’s of the world, the Rush Limbaugh’s of the world and all the other haters in the world–your days are numbered here in the good ‘ole USA, for WE know who and what you are, what you represent and who you really work FOR. Have a nice Sunday everybody and say a prayer for that dear congresswoman today, regardless of your political affiliation. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
