March “madness”…
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the star lit, dark, cool, moon shined island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 12th day of March, 2020, Thursday, broadcasting LIVE at the Hyannis Waterfront, busy digesting ‘reality’ regarding the past 24 hour fall out from the global pandemic called COVID-19, a novel virus that cares nothing for politics nor Tweets. Beyond containment, this slippery strain is already in the house, and now it is all about mitigation.
President Donald spoke to the nation last night, at least admitting there was a global pandemic, speaking of travel bans and hinting at tax cuts no one is advocating, yet not addressing the meat and potatoes that is needed for said mitigation to slow the spread of Corona. He did not speak of testing per say, nor aid to families in need of financial/food help from the Federal government. School after school is being shut down, colleges telling it’s students to go home and learn on line, “March Madness” NCAA basketball tournament has been cancelled, the NBA has suspended it’s season, indeed all major sporting events are now under the gun.
This virus hit home when Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, confirmed that they have tested positive after visiting Australia. The questions swirl in the air, with few answers being offered. No one knows, including the World Health Organization, where this is going, but one thing is for sure, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Buckle up.
Hospitals may be creamed in the next week, looking at Italy as a model, for it is coming and we must face it with courage and conviction. We need the testing, we need to ready these hospitals yet there is no uniform effort to treat these future patients with prudence and effectiveness, not to mention empathy.
So as Donald was speaking this past evening, World markets quivered, and the Dow Jones Industrial, falling another 1460 points yesterday, with futures looking grim today, may SEA record losses again and again and again… After losing 20 percent from it’s high of a little over 29,000 points only a month ago, the 11 year bull market has been traded in for a bear. We have a president that is far more interested in these markets than he is to the well being of the every day man, woman and child whose lives are being turned upside down, falling on their collective heads.
A simple public relations political issue is how the White House views this crisis.
Meetings with Bank CEO’s?
Really?
“The Emperor” has no clothes.
Yet he believes he does.
Have a positive day, pray for those who have been affected, and empower yourself with knowledge;
keeping the FAITH all the way.
PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
