Jake, Elwood on Nantucket; ‘The Blues Brothers!’
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, misty, majestic, marvelous, miraculous island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on an ominous, dark, rainy morning ‘down on the docks’ of ye ‘ole Hyannis Harbor; AHOY! It is Friday, The Twenty-Eighth Day of April, 2017; Pleasant Street buzzing today with boats and buggies, lorries, trolleys and trucks, spinning their wheels towards ‘Steamship Authority’s’ “Eagle” to whisk them away to their destiny of that aforementioned isle of Nantucket, sporting the 43rd Annual “Daffodil Day Week End”.
Events include, but are not limited to, a gala tonight held at the “Great Harbor Yacht Club”, honoring the great work of Dr. Lepore, who works with people who are hopelessly addicted to this nation’s greatest drug epidemic to date; heroin. Street or synthetic, matters not, for this addiction is powerful’ requiring much support and LOVE to conquer it. We need more people in this world like Dr. Lepore! WE salute you here at Sea Cape Cod sir!
The “Blues Brothers Rock and Soul Review” will be performing LIVE tonight at said yacht club, and although sold out, there may be a few seedy scalpers, salty sea dogs, scallywags and such combing the mean downtown cobblestone streets of Nantucket ‘town’ today, or anywhere around Nantucket island itself, in Nantucket County, in the great state of Massachusetts, in the good ‘ole US of A who may be able ‘…to do something for yous!’ So come on down to the ‘Sapphire Room’, in Boise, Idaho, ah, wait, check that, come on down to the Great Harbor Yacht Club and listen to some solutions regarding this deadly dis-EASE. After, listen to the rhythm and blues master sounds of a great band playing tribute to the late, great John Belushi (Jake) and his brother ‘Elwood’, (Dan Aykroyd). Looking out onto the great harbor into the moon’s light, mirrored by a galaxy of brilliant stars; dancing and singing his or her way into all the fun to be had tomorrow all over this amazing island; antique cars slowly cruising up that famous Main Street of Nantucket, beautiful yellow and white Daffodils adoring said ancient modes of transport, ushering in warmer, gentler days ahead…
