The ship known as “Iyanough” is another high speed ferry that jets one over to the “far away island” of Nantucket. Iyanough was a notable Indian Chief here on the Cape and Islands. A statue built in his honor stands tall next to the Kennedy Library in Hyannis. Although a great warrior, he was also known for his peaceful ways. President Obama yesterday received the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway with tens of thousands in attendance. Many would say that a peace prize is not warranted in a time of war, a position that this fledgling nation seems to find itself in decade after decade. I am not here to judge the validity of the honor our President received yesterday. I am here to say this– peace is not “out there”, but within your very soul. By giving peace, you receive peace. This goes along the same line that giving and receiving are actually one and the same. It is just the concept of “time” that trips us up. By giving peace, even in a world that rejects the very notion of it, you will receive it. There is nothing more important than your own sense of peace and nothing more valuable than offering it to your brother. Have a great week end! Peace~ M
