‘It’s always the darkest…’

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:14 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, warm island of Nantucket!  Great to be with you on this Tuesday morning, the eighth day of November, 2011, another stunner on Cape, with temperatures expected to reach 65 degrees on Cotuit Bay, coupled with abundant sunshine once again, a bonus ‘Indian Summer’ day if you will.  It is day 53 of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, that, again, has spread across the globe, with more arrests from various “Occupy” points across this country, not to mention more in the way of unruly, barbaric, criminal police behavior. Take “Occupy Oakland” if you will, where a mild mannered protester, Scott Campbell, appeared on “Countdown, with Keith Olbermann”, airing every weeknight at 8 p.m., EDT, only on Current TV, where he spoke to the incident that happened to his person only a few short hours ago.  In the video tape, that Scott was filming, visibly, on I believe late Sunday night, images, dark, foreboding images of police in riot gear– looking more like cops on the streets of some Middle Eastern country than right here in the good ‘ole US of A–appeared, presenting hundreds of armed men in black looking back menacingly at the camera.  One could hear Scott in the video feed ask, ‘is this OK?’, literally asking permission from mob of police who remained silent, and so, he continued to tape…as he panned to the left, walking slowly down the police line, causing NO trouble of ANY kind, suddenly there, caught by the camera, was a loud blast, and a flash of light coming from the darkened images of said police corp, it was a blast from a shotgun that propelled rubber bullets into the abdomen of Scott Campbell, causing a massive wound to his midsection to which he is still recovering.  There has been no response by the Oakland police to this incident, and, not surprisingly, none from the ‘drive by corporate media’, who have given this revolution little to no coverage, as the ‘pundits’ put their collective heads in the proverbial sands of our ‘time’.  This all comes on the heals of these same militarized police forces around the country putting a man in intensive care, by beating him so badly with a baton he still remains in grave condition.  He was WALKING AWAY from the action that night, down the wrong street at the wrong time and apparently came across some police away from the main action that acted more like street thugs than uniformed officers who are sworn to ‘protect and serve’, hitting him so hard that it caused his spleen to burst, then, after being thrown into a police van, he sat handcuffed for over three hours, with no medical care, then was carted away to jail, where he laid in a prison cell, his body screaming out in INTENSE pain, with, again, no medical care, laying there, for all he knew, dying, with a belly full of blood.  “Nothing to see here folks, please move along and mind your own business!“, isn’t that right former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, ‘the hero of 9/11′?, who recently made a comment of the individuals standing up for the 99 percent of the true AMERICAN PEOPLE, “…why don’t you ‘occupy’ a job?”.  Really Rudy?  Do you really want to go there, being a political hack of the highest order and all?  Do you really?  Meanwhile, in Washington D.C., massive protests are going on to stop the horrible tar sands ‘Keystone XL’ pipeline from Canada to the Gulf, a pipeline that, if completed, has most credible global environmental scientists saying with pure conviction… “if this pipeline is completed, and we use these high producing carbon dioxide tar sands, it will be the end of our climate as we know it…”  Good Luck and God’s Speed to all who are protesting this polluting monster that will produce only minimal jobs, but destroy our planet at the same time…seems like a pretty insane trade off to me Senator!  Have a wonderful day folks, always keeping in mind that it ‘is always darkest before the dawn’PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
