Island Chapel
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the soon to be sunny island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this early Sunday morning, the sun’s fiery face just now making it’s presence known outside of my window on the eastern horizon, another gorgeous day here on Cape Cod and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard, as seen above in an image of Saint Elizabeths’ in Edgartown, as well as Nantucket, the little island dubbed, ‘the far away island’ by the native Indians who used to ‘own’ it. Yes, the leaves are falling now like rain in the little sea side hamlet of Cotuit, home of seacapecod.net now, as this reporter needed to be just a little closer to the water to get the full effect of what is now happening to our environment at large–visible changes happening to the coast every year. Cotuit is one of the oldest, if not the oldest some would say, village on Cape Cod, lying just directly west of Osterville and Hyannis Port, a town on a pennisula, with the Coutiut bay right outside of my study window, looking out onto Oyster Harbors, the private island of Osterville proper, a true high end gated community, as the bay spills out via the source of the Cotuit river, into Nantucket Sound, with Popponesset bay filling out the western half of this heavily wooden ‘old Cape’ town, spread out over many country square miles, where they role the streets up at 5 and get up, well, before the sun rises. If Norman Rockwell were alive today, and he happened to like the ocean, he would have chosen Cotuit to live, for it’s natives are from the “Mayflower” era, holding names such as Sturgis and such, with many more simply being generational natives to the region, immigrants from various parts of the world, making a true melting pot, as it were, from the days of ‘yore, neighbor helping out neighbor, just as they did some 350 plus years before this little country was formed into the ’super power’ it is today. Some would ask, “what’s a super power?”, and they would be met with a myriad of answers, some plausible, others not so much, spinning a lie that confirms their particular position on ‘things’, legislation designed for the ‘powers that be’ (plutocrats), by the puppets in ‘charge’ at the moment (many D.C. corrupt politicians), not for the general welfare of the common GOOD. This is what we are up against here folks, and as that rising wave and noise of “Occupy” fills the airwaves and streets over the next twelve months or so, going all the way to the election of the 45th President of the United States, WE will ALL see, hear, feel, taste and smell the TRUTH as to what has really been going on in our collective institutions, many ‘too big to fail‘, according to the architects and power brokers of said institutions. Institutions, as in Penn State and the mafia like staff who once worked there, that failed our society, especially the most vulnerable among us, scarring them for life with predatory acts that were not only abhorrent but were also not isolated, proving the ills of society have indeed taken hold of reason, common sense and above all a sense of DUTY to protect those who cannot protect themselves. This sickness is not isolated to the gridiron, it goes all the way to our presidential candidates, who mock the harmful treatment of another group of people in our society, women. Yes, something does indeed stink in Denmark, stinks in a society when you have a candidate for president making light of the very serious issue of how we treat women in the workplace, laughing it off as if it were a joke at cocktail hour over at the Heritage Club. No one is laughing, Herman, ‘can I call you Herman, or do you just reserve that name for yourself when speaking ‘of’ yourself?’… Laugh it up big boy, the women who are watching the Sunday morning talk shows will not be, nor will most of the electorate, I can assure you of that. Have a nice day folks and keep on avoiding those wooden nickles over on FOX NEWS, they are chalk full of ‘the Brother’s Koch’ 596 deadly (unregulated and secretive in their chemical structure) chemicals that are used in the ‘fracking’ of shale rock to attain ‘natural gas’, whose Madison Avenue Ads just keep on bringin’ all of that crazy horse$hit, stating, ‘they drill well below the aquifers, never spoiling the clean drinking water’, a HUGE LIE!!!, a lie of biblical proportions, as they get ready to bring their ‘fracking’ show to downtown Manhattan, that’s right, all the way to your drinking water New York City, with major plans to ‘drill’ in the Delaware Water Gap, or basin, where over 15 plus million people get their now clean, fresh water from daily. Good Luck stormin’ the castle boys! PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
