Hypnotic Holiday Lights

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 10:11 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cold, clear, windy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Thursday morning, the twenty-ninth day of December, 2011, a blustery day yet again on Cape, seasonably cold and crystal clear, as the sun rose through the white pines this morning, a moment that was truly something to behold.  So much to cover today in social studies, seeing how our fellow man is behaving around the world…hmmmm, where to begin?  It seems that all over the world there is concern, as we look to the nuclear threats of North Korea, with a military dictatorship likely to follow the death of deceased Premier Kim Jong il, as well as in the country of Iran, who is threatening to block the strait of Hormuz, the vital shipping route for a third of the world’s energy supply, oil, responding to a world wide economic sanction on the country due to it’s nuclear ambitions, and to a smaller degree, it’s human rights atrocities, such as in the crushing of the democratic uprising only a few short years ago.  That’s just for starters, as you also have a Europe that is teetering on the edge of a cliff, staring out into oblivion, wondering who might buy the next country on the chopping block.  This is important to US as we live in a global economy now, where ALL of our brothers and sisters matter, even their humanity to some as well, meaning WE should all be paying attention to these upcoming republican primaries, for the likes of a Mitt, “corporations are people too”, Romney is sure to show US all the light, lead US out of the desert and the chains of the social welfare state, and miraculously placing US all on the path to prosperity (credit Paul Ryan and his Medicare killing bill, congressman from Wisconsin), via the free market, or trickle down economics, some would call it voodoo economics, Bueller?, Bueller? anyone?, but those are the haters, am I right?, yes, the family man Mitt Romney, will put US back in God’s good graces, you betcha!, for who can disavow such a flipper, as he be a flippin’ and a floppin’ all the way to the nomination, so you might as well turn off those horrible television devices…oh, I’m sorry, I am getting carried away, by all means, let US continue watching grown men lie to our faces, staring at the TV screens in some kind of a trance, being convinced, somehow, that wasting our precious ‘time’ on this planet watching weak willed men is somehow a good idea (although, I have to admit, it is the best television in years), men who could not carry Ronald Reagan’s jock strap, let alone Jack Kennedy’s or Teddy Roosevelt’s, watching these ridiculous debates in a virtual circus environment, tirelessly going on and on (when we can see the Emperor has no clothing), with no compass, talking about ‘changing’ things to make everything better for ‘the American People’?  Are you for real?  Anyone with half a brain KNOWS you guys are full of horse$hit, so why continue on with the act, the act that you care anything about said, ad nauseum, and favorite republican talking point, ‘the American People’…?. Take a good hard look at the weather, and tell me one more time how much you care about OUR kids and our grand kids futures, when we won’t, a few decades from now, have a reasonable answer to the sad question, ‘what happened to all of the Polar Bears?’… Have a nice day folks, steering clear of Steve, “wooden nickles”, Ducey, one of the many FOX “NEWS” poster children of hard hitting modern day “journalism” in 21st century America.  Yes, that’s right folks, give it up for FOX NEWS!!, whose mantra has always been, since 1996, ‘I just have to look good, I don’t have to be clear…’ (credit, again, Don Henley and the venerable rock band, “The Eagles”, who, according to Jeff Bridges‘ character “The Dude”, in the classic film, “The Big Lebowski”, do not represent one of his favorite musical artists, informing the cab driver transporting Bridges home after getting his head bashed in by the Malibu chief of police, who is blasting one of their many hits–”I hate the fu@king Eagles man”…), oh well, you can’t please everybody, am I right Rupert, ‘arrrrgghhhhhh matie!’, Murdoch?  You old sea dog you!  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
