Hyannis Port Light

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 9:03 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, warm island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this Thursday morning, the sixteenth day of February, 2012, another beautiful one of Cape, as you look out onto Hyannis Port, former home to our thirty-fifth President of the United States of America, Jack Kennedy, along with his beautiful wife Jackie, and the rest of that extraordinary family (Good Luck to thirty one year old Joseph Kennedy III, grandson to Bobby Kennedy, announcing today his intention of running for the vacant congressional seat available when the great Barney Frank resigned his congressional post in the New Bedford district of this great state of Massachusetts) who changed this country forever, for the better, whether or not their ‘enemies’ agree with that FACT or not.  At a time when America is taking a good hard look in the mirror, not only at themselves, but at the politicians who supposedly ‘have their back’, it is not surprising that a great many of our fellow citizens are also taking a look back at the amazing history this country really has, thus, creating hope for the future generations who will have to deal with climate change/world economic/social issues long after this 112th congress is long gone.  Moreover, how, because of the Internet, WE are all connected to each other and not, as some republicans would have it, “on our own”, hence the moral social “contract with America”, that provides a safety net for “the least among us”, proving once again we are not animals here, human beings, not cattle, and the faster we all get to that place, the better off this country will be for centuries to come.  Ah, but what do I know, when we have conservative bloggers out their like our pal “Andy” Breitbart, pissing off the Dean of Journalism, Mr. Keith Olbermann, host of Current TV’s “Countdown, with Keith Olbermann”, airing every week night at 8 p.m., eastern standard, who let that rather disturbed young man have it but good on last night’s broadcast.  It seems old Andy took a few liberties with the FACTS, at least he is consistent on one front, stating on his website that 17 rapes had occurred at the “Occupy” movement across the globe.  It turns out, after Keith investigated every one of the FALSE claims, that in every case, OCCUPY was the VICTIM of the assaults, many of which were made up to begin with, no police reports backing up ‘ner a one, thus, proving once again that some conservative nut jobs will go to any length to get noticed on ‘TV’.  As Keith correctly pointed out, the women whose names were on this infamous list, ARE the victims of Andy’s little mischievous exercise of hate, and let him know that under no uncertain terms.  God Bless you Keith! Hope ya’ll have a nice day, especially our friends on the other side of the aisle, Rick and Mitt, you are both doing an excellent job of re-electing our 44th President, Barack Obama, to his second term in office, as you beat each other to a pulp in Michigan, the next big primary fight for republicans before ’super Tuesday’, a state that does not take any wooden nickles, nor do they take American Express.  PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
