Hug a VET! (2.0)

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 1:50 pm

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the beautiful, gorgeously sun and big, happy, brilliantly white puffed clouded, balmy, and quite breezy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Friday High Noon on the protest free Hyannis Waterfront. Happy  “Veteran’s Day” to all veterans, past and present, here in the United States and all around the world.  Today is The Eleventh Day of this Eleventh month of November, 2016, some information we wish to give to you just in case you were living under a rock, however, how you would get that information, should you be living under said rock, is anybody’s guess, and certainly your problem…

Walking past the Village Green off Main Street moments ago, one may have witnessed a somber playing of the National Anthem, as two Barnstable County police officers stood at attention, in full salute to those who have fallen in the many, many wars, armed conflicts and other tragedies that take our young men and women way before they should have left this world.  Taken in bloody wars that for the most part are contrived and a game of profit, control and power.  Ugly things happen to these kids, such as drug and alcohol dependence, depression and suicide, with many vets finding themselves homeless and hopeless, only the very few people coming to their aid.

God Bless them from ON HIGH!

To those who do care for vets of all branches, Sea Cape Cod salutes you as well, for it is people like you that give hope when for many still alive, barely, that is a luxury that they cannot afford, and one most civilians take for granted. May the light of God be with those families coping with the loss of a young man or woman in their collective lives that never came home from a war that may have been questionable at best, criminal at worst.

May peace find this nation once again, putting away ridiculous recent protests all over the country that speak of ‘values’ when showing the opposite. And the best of LUCK to U.S. president-elect Donald Trump! May his words of making America great again (trademark), find some foot hold in the consciousness of those who hold the real power. No offense Mr. Trump. Indeed, Mr. Trump may be the first president in this storied history to be in the position to employ this new tangled technology to his advantage.  Taking the 32nd U.S. president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, famous fireside chats during the brutal depression years of the 1930’s to a new level.

Although, that might be a bit of a stretch, only the nose knows…

Have a great week end folks; HUG a vet!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
