Hope, Nope, YEP!
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the beautiful, sunny, temperate island of Nantucket! Great to be back with you on this twentieth day of February, 2013, a gorgeous one out, as we were hit with yet another blast of the yo-yo pattern of global warming that, God Forbid, may soon be coming to a neighborhood near you soon. After the blizzard that paralyzed the Cape, Islands and much of New England, overnight we saw all of that snow disappear, without a trace, so to speak, as perhaps upwards of 2 inches of heavy, heavy rain fell, leaving an amazing moment of purple mountains majesty above the fog you SEA above you, as ships from the “Grey Lady” to “Iyanough” struggle to get passengers to forth the hub of Hyannis, my home, to Nantucket and beyond… Ah, what do I know of global warming, for WE all know our favorite Senator from the great state of Oklahoma, Mr. James Inhofe, a republican once said, and I quote, “global warming is the greatest hoax ever played on the American People”… Point of parliamentary procedure sir, but perhaps you don’t read history books or know much about science, but I ask you this, and ask it with directness–do you KNOW what the word SEQUESTRATION stands for, or it’s actual definition? “A glossary of political terms~’under Sequestration, an amount of money equal to the difference between the cap set in the ‘Budget Resolution’ and the amount actually appropriated is “Sequestered” by the Treasury and not handed over to the agencies to which it was ORIGINALLY appropriated by the Congress! Perhaps you did not get the memo, that most economist would wholeheartedly agree this will cause over 700,000 jobs lost, hurt this U.S. economic recovery and hamper our military in many ways, not to mention, more importantly, hampering real good folks who are just now getting back on their collective feet after ten long years of war, corporate greed and outright FRAUD by big banks across the globe. Food for thought folks and as you look into the future, please remember that FOG is used by people who, and I quote Abraham Lincoln, one of our greatest Presidents to date, “to pull the wool over people’s eyes”, or to quote another great guy who happened to be OUR President long, long ago, George W. Bush, “fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, well, ha, ha, I just can’t be fooled again!!!… Enjoy the day! And, for God’s sakes, PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
