Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the cloudy, cool island of Nantucket! Great to be with you and yours on this President’s Day, Monday, February 20th, 2012, a rather cold, raw day on Cape, as the nation relaxes for a moment and buys some mattresses or used cars in celebration of the two President’s we combine in today’s national holiday–Abraham Lincoln, whom you may be able to make out in the cloud below you, and George Washington, our first President, who, 237 years ago, became our first leader in an epic fight against tyranny of ANY kind, eventually leading the rebels to victory in that horrible, freezing cold Revolutionary War that had everything to do with evolution as it did with the bloody confrontation that took place on the fields of Lexington and Concord. With the political horse$hit becoming knee deep in many places around the country, we can all enjoy Rick, “I am for small government except when it comes to your bedroom“, Santorum and Mitt, “I know something that you don’t know, the election process is rigged”, Romney slogging on this week to win the hearts and minds of Michiganders set to vote in that state’s critical primary later on this week, as many Americans are forced to pay attention with the 24/7 Ad campaigns on both sides of this rather odd republican configuration going on and on and on and on… I feel sorry for my former brothers and sisters in the great state of Michigan, where the trees are the right height, for they will, over the course of the next few days, be barraged with Citizens United super pac Ads that spell doom for our democracy, a FACT whether or not anyone out there is paying attention or not. This election is all about CONTROL, and forced birth. The republicans want control of the House, Senate and the Executive so that they may push not only their insane fiscal policy, the same fiscal policy of the not years when George W. Bush put this country in a dumpster, but, moreover, wish to take this country back, way back in many of their socially challenged policies, take this country back to the days of Abraham Lincoln, creating that slave state all over again, not racially motivated this time, no, this time having only to do with the only thing republicans care about, “…the money Arthur”. (credit the great film, circa 1981, “Arthur”, starring the late, great Dudley Moore and Sir John Gielgud). Rick Santorum is a mule for the one percent even though he comes off as ‘an ordinary guy’, for his message in not one of modern day human experience, no, his experience is one of being a stooge to a plutocratic vision that involves an aspirin of some kind, Bayer I believe, and woman’s knees as well. One would have to delve deep to find such empty, heartless rhetoric, oh, wait, I’ve got one, taken from a 1976 SNL skit with Jane Curtain, where she was the ‘point’ to the obvious republican ‘counterpoint’ in a ’round table’ discussion, much like we see today on every channel known to man, going something like…“Shana, they bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into, I say, let ‘em crash”. Hallelujah, at least that fake republican actor spoke to the TRUTH as to what they really feel about 99 percent of the people who do most of the living and dying ‘around these here parts’! Speaking to some plane crash where the corporation could have been at fault, you know, the ‘free hand of the market’. In essence, that is the attitude of a guy like Rick Santorum, who was soundly rejected by the good voting public in the great state of Pennsylvania, losing to Bob Casey in that Senate race a few years back by 18 percentage points. Meanwhile, you have a guy like Mitt, ‘corporations are people too’, Romney who is so out to lunch regarding the true plight of ‘the American People’ (credit Mitch McConnell, R-KY), that it would be hard to imagine his philosophy gaining the highest office in the land, especially when people are really hurting out there, with no end in sight for many, for as they look through the want ads, they know they’re screwed, because this plutocratic philosophy of global corporate domination by perhaps 400 people or so, seems to be winning perhaps upwards of fifty percent of the voting population in the United States of America, poor, once middle class people, say in Michigan, who are, or will, vote against their own best interests because people like a Karl Rove, or worse yet, an Andy Breitbart, have convinced them that liberals are attempting to force their ‘theology’ (credit Santorum), or their ‘moral agenda’ down every one’s throat, a strategy that was put in place by republicans strategists like Rove, from Crossroads/GPS, or a clown such as Frank Luntz (Google ‘word doctors’), who use focus groups to form the words (talking points you hear over and over again, never straying from that SCRIPT!) that you will hear come out of either a Romney or Santorum, or whoever this crazy republican field puts up in November, should it go to a brokered convention in Tampa this summer. I’ll give the republicans this, they ARE transparent insofar as they, if you have a trained eye in human psychology, simply PROJECT who THEY really are by claiming ‘the other guy is’, exposing what THEY are really doing and thinking, defining hypocrisy beautifully for ALL the world to sea! These people are insane and the sooner the true American electorate WAKES UP to that fact, the sooner we can start looking very seriously at our dying environment. Seriously look into solutions, global, that will slow that rate of carbon dioxide spewing by tens of millions of tons a day, into a precious atmosphere WE ALL SHARE, reviewing our collective world wide folly so that WE can leave that beautiful blue rock called earth better than when we arrived, whenever that may have been, a real legacy of LOVE to our children and our grandchildren, not to mention a FAIR tax code, a reformed banking system and shit canning the insurance frauds, called insurance companies, creating a single payer system, just like they have in Sweden, Norway, England, Ireland, France, Denmark, Germany, should I go on? Big business, or the global plutocratic vision cares not for the 596 deadly chemicals offered up by ‘the brothers’ KOCH’, frackers, not to be confused with the scary fairy tales of ‘The Brothers’ GRIMM’, circa 1806, no, ‘natural’ gas is completely safe and would never destroy our drinking water that say 18 million people in New York City alone, and the surrounding area, depend on…nothing to worry about here, fresh, clean water just represents LIFE itself that’s all. The only thing David and Charles Koch, neighbors of mine, care about is MONEY and making it by the truck load, caring not for whom, or what they step on in the process. Make no mistake about it, these people are ruthless and will do anything they can to get their way, including trying to steal the election once again, like they did in 2000 when Al Gore lost to George W. Bush, stealing it by creating, in over 15 states now, tough new voter ID laws, aimed directly at the African-American communities, poorer elderly folks and the young, many of which do not have ‘proper’ state identification. They will also use Gestapo like tactics of intimidation, using the crazies in that unfortunate party to do their dirty work for them, God knows what that will be, and thus, attempt to strong arm this election away from the WILL of the people, the very core of what this country is about to begin with. So, on this day set aside for the two aforementioned great men, as well as every other man who has served this most high of offices, we, here at little old seacapecod.net, extend our greatest thanks for your contribution to mankind’s evolution, OUT of tyranny and into the LIGHT that was reflected so well in Thomas Jefferson’s, our third President, words, words you can read for yourself on the Declaration of Independence, a document this reporter would personally like our friends on the other side of the aisle to take a little harder look at–“WE hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. The elite few have no problem in the bedroom and I imagine they would not be too keen on someone telling them what they can and cannot do. News flash, WE don’t live in Dubai, this is not an oligarchy, yet, and the true spirit of this very diverse American experience will rise up and CRUSH any attempt by some right wing nut jobs to kill the very essence of what this country was founded upon 237 years ago.
