Great Point
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the sunny, cool, windy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this Saturday morning, the twenty-fifth day of February, 2012, a wonderful day to be on Cape Cod proper if you like a nice ocean breeze, clear skies and infinite seas that take one away from the insanity of politics in America circa 2012. Of course, you also might be of the political junkie mindset at the same time, which is, to quote my friend Al Franken, Senator extraordinaire from the great state of Minnesota, “OK”, taking in all of this useless information and trying to make heads or tails of it all, mining gold, if you will, for it is only the future of this country, and indeed the world that is at stake here. I know my friends over on MSNBC are of that ilk, producing ‘must see’ television talk shows such as “UP, with Chris Hayes”, starting in fifty minutes from right “NOW”, another fine show on week days at high noon, with the highly talented Alex Wagner, a show dedicated to digging for that truth hidden in all of the camouflaged toxic nonsense that comes in the forms of dog whistles, propaganda, fear mongering, mass hypnosis, and giant overreaches by men who live in the 19th century, or on another planet all together, ready to pull out their pitch forks and torches at any minute as they continue this insane march carrying the crest of culture wars against women, minorities, gays, students and any one who is not in lockstep with the plutocratic ‘new world order’. Hogwash I say unto you, pure, unadulterated hogwash. After Chris, be sure to tune into Melissa Harris-Perry, or “MHP”, another hard hitting view from the great professor from Tulane, who keeps it real and always, always, makes me laugh, especially when she does. One more plug today for MSNBC, a big shout out and ‘endorsement’ of the “DR” show, with Dylan Ratigan (week days at four p.m. eastern), who, yesterday, had the great ‘Sir Willie Geist’ (of another MSNBC show, “Way too early with Willie Geist“, followed by the great “Morning Joe”, beginning at 5:30 a.m., or, as the title to the show indicates, ‘way too early’ (but worth getting up for) read an excerpt from Dylan’s new book, another ‘must read’, “Greedy Bastards”, all you need to know ‘why’ this country is in the shape it’s in today, and I must say sir, that reading looked awfully familiar to the humble reporter…nice. Have a wonderful day and keep on dodging those wooden nickles thrown about by FOX NEWS, they ain’t sellin’ any alibis as you stare into the empty vacuum of their eyes. PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
