“Fox’s Path…”
Across the dune and into the tall grass, gazing far into the morning’s light–
A red Cape Cod Fox trots tenderly about the sand, strewn with seagull, blue heron and egret–moving effortlessly here and there like a Monarch, a kindred spirit, not tethered by the things of man…
How splendid the moment he rose this ‘morn, not knowing what the day would bring.
The scent of salt cupped with the early dew glistening on the cut green, green grass of summers, August summers on a little sand bar created eons ago by mighty glaciers, aged ‘ore a billions years, drifting off into a deep sleep not of their making…evolving into massive clouds evoking awe, producing wicked force.
Suddenly, the silence is broken by the flutter of an Osprey as it dives down into Nantucket’s sound; violent splash awakening the Fox’s instincts to continue his day’s journey into night–finding peace under an indigo moon rising steadily ‘ore the sandy mirage of ‘time’…
PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
