Farewell and God’s Speed, Dear Sir Lion!

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 8:47 am

Ted Kennedy passed away at 2 am this morning, and everyone here on Cape Cod is mourning his passing.  Teddy was the “Last Lion” of the Senate, but to most of us who loved him, he was much more than that.  His love of the Nantucket Sound was only outmatched by his love for his family, this nation, and the world as a whole.  He saw, with different eyes, like his brothers Jack and Bobby, who I grew up reading about, and was a great American and world citizen.  On clear and bright morning, here in Osterville, I want to wish Teddy God’s speed and ask us all to remember what he stood for, the reason he stood for it, and perhaps most important… how much he loved life.  He was the real deal, with both parties, even when in disagreement with policy.  Always admiring him, befriending him, laughing and crying with him.  He will be missed.  May your new place with God be filled with the cool, salt water of the Nantucket Sound, the strength of a powerful breeze forever propelling your sailboat to where you wish to go.  May God hold you in the palm of his hand forever.  We love you!  Peace M
