Fancy Land

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the foggy, misty, windy and quite mysterious island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this day most made ducks, for they do like a good splash now and again, and they always seem to have a smile on their bill.  This is of course Friday, a soggy day down here at ‘the docks’ of the Hyannis Harbor, not but a stone’s throw to the sunny Main Street seen ‘above deck’; a town that is still in Fall mode, as Thanksgiving is but a week away from this 20th day of November, 2015.

The fun goes on!

New York is under high alert, as is Washington D.C., for the terror threat that proved itself in the death and destruction presented recently is only seemingly intensifying.  The call for more war in the way of sending OUR brave men and women into a quagmire does not seem wise, ‘at this juncture’, and President Obama is doing an outstanding job of balancing those two extremes: recreating the Iraq War or intelligent intervention.  Especially when one factors in the fact WE, the WORLD, are dealing with people “possessing a moral backbone equal that of a chocolate eclair”. (credit to the great satirist, comedian, film maker extraordinaire, Mr. Woody Allen!)

This is red meat for the hijacked U.S. political ‘reality TV show’ disguised as ‘the 2016 U.S. Presidential election process’, brought to you by Monsanto, ExxonMobil and Koch Industries.  Our old pal Chris Christie, the fiery Republican Governor from the great state of New Jersey stated recently this of President Obama’s tactics in the Middle East, indeed, stating that he was, and I think I am quoting him correctly…

“…yeah, ‘dat Obama is living in Fancy Land!  ‘Cause the reality is that we need to, ah, send in more troops?  Or, I know, I used to do this when me and my buddies played “war” in the back woods near my house, yeah, we just keep bombing the hell out of them and then send, say 50,000 troops into Syria and I think that would ultimately, ah, solve the problem?  ‘Cause you know these terrorists are only in that one area and if we get all there, maybe in a sneak attack or something like that, yeah, we can go ahead win this ‘war on terror’, once and for all, you know, ‘Mission Accomplished’! But then again, if we ‘win’ the ‘war’, ah, will we be able to justify a 600 billion dollar military budget that dwarfs all other countries military budgets combined?  And if we kill all the bad guys, then, what about all those military industrial jobs?  If there is no war, there is no need for all of these bloody weapons is there? (Christie then ‘wakes up’, whacks his head with his hand, muttering…, then yelling twice to all of the stunned reporters, cameramen and producers working the press conference…), What about the economy stupid!  You know?   You should think, think McFly, think!  Is this thing on knucklehead?  Go back to journalism school a$$hole!  I am so sick and tired of you f’ing reporters asking your specific questions regarding what I, Chris Christie, would actually do if I were the United States President and I was in the position of facing this very real terror threat!  I mean what are the chances of that really happening? (laughter in the background), I mean how do we really intelligently fight a group of radicals playing by a different set of moral laws then the rest of US?  Hmmmm, I just don’t really know, if I were honest about the whole mess.  I have no effing clue what I would do, in fact, and don’t quote me on this one, but I think Obama is doing a great job!  A hell of a lot better than the clowns in charge of this country during those dark years a little after the beginning of this 21st Century.  Am I right or am I right?  I’m right, right?”

Have a nice week end everybody, especially all of those intrepid reporters on NBC; such as Casey Hunt, Rachel Maddow, Steve Kornacki, Chris Hayes, Lawrence O’Donnell, Alex Wagner, Ari Melber, Joe Scarborough and all the rest who do a darn good job of bringing clarity to an ever more foggy world…

Thank you.
