Egggggs-cellent!
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the absolutely gorgeous, sunny island of Nantucket! Wow! What a spring morning here in Cotuit, ‘where the ocean truly meets the wood’, a cool, crisp sun splashed start with little to no wind, a perfect example of why this cowboy lives on Cape Cod, you betcha! Yes it is a Tuesday, April the third, 2012, and our very fine President Obama yesterday did what was needed to be done. What was indeed ‘prudent at this juncture’ (credit former President George H. Bush), in the public calling out of the Supreme Court of the United States, or what the kids refer to today as ‘SCOTUS’, warning them that to strike down the very watered down version of the president’s signature piece of legislation, ‘the Affordable Care Act’, that was signed into law in 2010 would be a form of activism. This was the same year SCOTUS decided, to their great shame, that money equals free speech, thus, can be entered into a democracy that cannot sustain that kind of attack. The President made it clear in the Rose garden on a sunny afternoon yesterday, that activist judges–(one could argue that in this past decade alone, Gore v. Bush, circa 2000 and Citizens United, circa 2010 , the far too the right of center judicial body has become a 5-4 bully, much like the congress and the big headache with the filibuster; the need for 60 votes in the Senate to get anything done!)–are not welcome, and that the highest court in the land should not be up for SALE! Too much? Or not nearly enough. Justice is a funny word in the U.S. these days, for if one has money it is not a problem, but if you are a poor black kid from the mean streets of Detroit, you are just another statistic waiting to embody that noun. Thankfully not all power rests in the Supreme Court, as the FBI is now undertaking an exhaustive investigation over the Trayvon Martin killing in Sanford, Florida on February 26th, 2012, a heartbreaking story that I will leave to the professionals–such as the great Reverend Al Sharpton, a must sea news hour host only on MSNBC, “Politics Nation”, six sharp eastern, check it out!–to explain in detail (p.s., hats off for the best coverage of this growing national problem of hate, violence and racism by the good Reverend), what is happening right now in the sunshine state, save one clear FACT just exposed yesterday…the last word you heard Trayvon utter–via the 911 tapes–“HELP!”, in a blood curdling scream I might add, has now been proven, via forensic scientific sound tests (99.9 percent accurate), to be the actual voice of Trayvon and not, as previously claimed, the voice of his killer, George Zimmerman. Good Luck with that one, for the FBI IS the best in the business at this sort of thing and will come to the TRUTH any which way you have it, by golly, it will. I would like to thank the Lord above for independent organizations such as the FBI, for it can rise above knucklehead police ‘forces’ out there like the Sanford Police Department, a cousin to the Nantucket Police Department, who are all too familiar with COVER UPS! Isn’t that right chief? Have a nice day folks and may God be with the parent’s of Trayvon Martin today and always, this cross was not theirs to bear and WE must ALL in this so called ‘free’ nation, stand up and let OUR voices be heard, stand up to suspect and ABUSIVE ‘authority’– question it, as is OUR RIGHT! In fact I’ll give you 10-1 odds…if you give a little man a little power, with no oversight or consequences for his actions, I’ll bet he will always ABUSE that power. Absolute power CORRUPTS absolutely! PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
