East Bay Sunrise

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 7:38 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket!  I was up at 4 a.m. this morning, out on my deck here in Osterville, and looked up at the blackness of the night, not noticing the dark, rather noticing only the brilliant stars that were looking down on this little sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age, and wondered if I was the only one who was in awe of nature’s glory at that moment in “time”.  Wondering further, if we, as a human race, can continue going in the wrong direction when it comes to the way we view ourselves, our planet and our Universe.  Why has greed and power become the almighty, when all evidence points to the contrary…?  Listening to the overcrowded airwaves, the countless opinions and intentions, yesterday, I was shocked, well, not really, to learn that our very own “United States Chamber of Commerce,” has a new role, and that being the finance arm of the republican party.  It seems that countries, like China, are funneling large sums of cash into this bogus government agency, laundering money if you will, who then send the money through a complicated web to a bank account that pays for all of the horrible attack ads that the republican tea party, or RTP, have been launching in order to gain back control of the House of Representatives come November 2, 2010.  This all comes on the heals of the January Supreme Court decision, a monumental f$ck up on behalf of the extremely right of center court, that we all know now, plays violin for the right wing corporate interests whose intentions are not honorable, whose intentions are not honorable, I will say it once again, whose intentions ARE NOT HONORABLE!  The hypocrisy that comes out of the mouths of the “young guns”, what a joke, and other members of the right wing caucus, is astounding and when they claim to speak for “the American People”–98 percent of whom make well under 250,000 dollars a year and are struggling just to put food on the table, while their jobs have been shipped overseas to promote profit for the bottom line of XYZ corporation, coupled with the fact that these “men” humiliate and dehumanize them by calling them names (the real American people, like the poor fisherman in Louisiana) that you would not use against your worst enemy, like “small people” or “hobos”, because they can’t buy a job, yet are duped into believing that the RTP actually cares about the welfare of said, “small American People”–with all of this in mind, you have to remember that these “men” are professional liars and snake oil salesmen, puppets for the larger powers of corporate opulence that cares nothing for the ideals that were set forth 235 years ago with the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.  During his ‘State of the Union’ address earlier this year, President Barrack Obama made it clear that the Citizens United case, a ruling by the Supreme Court to allow corporations to give unlimited funds to the “candidate” of their choice, was going to “open the floodgates for special interests” in this country, allowing corporations to buy politicians (Sharron “Angle”, Joe Miller, Christine O’Donnell, just to name a few) and therefore, policy–hence the “U.S. Chamber of Commerce” and who knows how many other shady “fronts”, and, because of their money and power, these corporations can HIDE their role in the election process, truly becoming the “man behind the curtain”, and thus, will be in the position to literally BUY the U.S. government, it’s law makers and ultimately it’s “President”, turning this country into a true plutocracy, rule by the wealthy, while the rest of the “American People” are left to twist in the wind.  This election is more important than the 2008 election for this reason alone, and yet the communication arm of the RTP keeps blasting away with their misinformation and down right lies, with a little innuendo sprinkled in for good measure.  If you like the way things are NOW, it is because of the policies of George W. Bush and the powerful corporate interests that were REALLY in charge during his eight years of hell.  So, if you want true change and a calming down of these crazy times, you must vote for the party that has no corporate mandate in mind, no other ax to grind, no ulterior motive, for that is what it has come down to in this country, a real class war between the haves and the have nots, all in the name of Jesus Christ himself, who said, over 2010 years ago, “What you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto ME.”  I am not sure where that fits in the tens of thousands of corporate mission statements scattered all over this little blue rock I call EARTH.  Have a nice day everybody!   PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
