Dowses Glow

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the great island of Nantucket! On this somber day, September the 11th, 2010, we look back nine years ago, to the tragic, historic turn this country took on that fateful day. It was a devastating attack, and it left an indelible mark on this nation, it’s people, it’s view of the world, and it’s view of one another. We have endured nine long years of war in far off lands, fighting an “enemy” that does not seem to tread the familiar lines of the “red shirts”, the “communists”, or the “Nazis”. It is much deeper than that, for it has become main stream now, via fundamentalism, to condemn our “enemy”, now defined, fundamentally, by the right, as the Faith of Islam itself, where only a few short years ago, then President George W. Bush, told this nation that under no uncertain terms should we condemn our brothers and sisters of the Muslim faith, that we should honor the Constitutional right of every American citizen to practice the religion of their choice, regardless of what extremists within their religion do. What this country NEEDS right now, is less intolerance and more acceptance, a massive strive towards KNOWLEDGE of the true meaning behind a religion, not the egoic misinterpretation of that religion. Knowing death, war, poverty and struggle, we can also KNOW peace, prosperity, joy and LOVE once again, putting that past behind us and learning that two wrongs don’t make a right…recreating our “enemy” in the likeness of our own hatred is not the words of our so called chosen faith in this country, Christianity, whereby Jesus himself said, under no uncertain terms, “Love thine enemies, what credit is it to you to love those who love you? Love those who persecute you, love those who hate and curse you, love those who would wish you harm. For what you measure out, is measured out unto you.” Hate less, Love more…    PRESEVERE THE WILDERNESS. Peace~M
