Distant Light
Keith Olberman, of MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olberman”, struck gold yesterday on the battle for decent health care in the United States of America. Five years ago, the New Orleans Superdome was briefly the home to thousands of victims who endured one of the greatest natural disasters to hit this country. Yesterday, it was retro fitted to a M.A.S.H. unit of sorts, taking care of thousands of citizens who lined up to receive some actual CARE from someone who was not out for money, fame or recognition. Hundreds of volunteers donated their time and expertise to GIVE some tender, loving care to the nation’s poorest– saving several lives along the way, as one individual’s blood pressure was 280 over 180; she was treated and sent to hospital for further treatment. Keith raised over 1.7 million dollars for this cause, freeclinics.com, where people from all over the world donated not only the nuts and bolts of basic human health care, but, moreover, to the IDEA that there is a better way…People like Keith Olberman are a rarity in this world of dollars and cents, seeing the forest for the trees and stepping up to the plate and hitting a grand slam. God bless you brother. Have a great Tuesday! Peace~ M
