Dilly, Dilly!!! (2.0)

Filed under: Blog — Michael @ 11:12 am

Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the golden sun laden, bright blue sky led, green moss cobble-stoned and quite windy island of Nantucket! Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all the Irish in this blessed world, and even if you are not, Happy St. Patrick’s Day anyway! After shoveling out from the third Nor’easter in less than two weeks, with another on the way?, it’s nice to SEA the sun shining so brightly on this Saturday morning, The Seventeenth Day of March, 2018.  Many a toast to yet be had, of course millions upon millions celebrating the day St. Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland, or at least that’s the information this humble reporter was told at some bar on 5th Avenue in New York many, many moons ago…

Alcohol is a funny thing, with most American adults addicted to some degree or another. Big drinking holidays such as this one always bring out the ‘best’ in people, don’t they? Having been known to enjoy a pint or two, no judgement here! Just remember, the word “alcohol” is derived from the Arabic term “Al-Kuhl”, which translates into “…body eating spirit”. Nice. That explains a lot… This actually serves as the origin for the English word “ghoul”; according to Middle Eastern folklore, a ghoul is an evil demon designed to eat human bodies.

Yikes! No more green beer for me,

thank you!

Alcohol consumption is something that is not only widely accepted in our society, but in many cases and social settings actually implied and expected. It is promoted heavily in the media (Bud Light’s “Dilly Dilly” comes to mind…), with countless ads depicting glamorous living, which always includes indulging in the finest liquor, wine and beer. It sometimes seems in our society that the only way to have fun is to include alcohol in the equation. Just the mere fact it is so heavily promoted through media and advertising in the first place is enough to make one skeptical. When one ingests too much of this poison, subsequently ‘blacking out’, or not recalling the previous night’s ‘fun’, there is more going on than meets the EYE…

This happens when the good soul (the one we were sent here with), leaves because the living conditions were too polluted and too traumatic to tolerate. The soul jettisons the body, connected on a tether, and a dark entity takes the body for a joy ride around the block. Often in a hedonistic, self-serving, illogical rampage…

Sounds about right!

Our bodies are cars for spirits….

If one spirit leaves; the other can take the car for a ride.

Let’s go to Vegas!

Erinn go Brach!

PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS! Peace~M
