Diamonds on the souls of her shoes…
Greetings and salutations from the sand, sun and surf of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the soon to be drenched with rain, windy island of Nantucket! Great to be with you on this 28th day of August, 2012, a day of moisture here on the little fair island of Nantucket and the rest of this sand bar created 11,500 years ago by the Last Great Ice Age… Keeping an ever watchful eye to the sky, for even though this humble reporter disagrees with most, if not ALL, of this hijacked, via the fake grass roots ‘tea party’, yes, this new “not your grandfather’s GOP”, I must say, I pray they are safe from the storm called “Isaac”, bearing down on the panhandle of Florida and will most likely cause some headaches for my colleagues, such as Chris Mathews of “Hardball” fame, only on MSNBC, weeknights at 5 and seven, p.m. eastern standard–or at least I think of them, ALL of them, as so, covering said RNC event, with the ‘key note’ speaker, Mr. Chris Christie, Governor of the great state of New Jersey, speaking on behalf of Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. Hopefully, he will keep his anger in check, if not, he can always consult Charlie Sheen, for he may be able to help out with that ‘anger management issue’… So, when we SEA this all go down, tonight, tomorrow and beyond, well, just keep this in mind, and I speak from the immortal words of Paul Simon, and the lyrics of that extraordinary song, “Diamonds on the souls of her shoes”, perhaps we should remember what WE are fighting FOR, namely, FAIRNESS, FREEDOM and equality for ALL. The benchmark of this nation to begin with. Last time I checked. Please take cover New Orleans, Florida, and be safe amongst the gathering clouds, for they do not care about politics, nor do they care if you are democratic, republican. Black, white, gay, straight, woman or man. They are part of the greater good, that WILL eventually become part of all of US, namely the mother, yes, mother earth, this little blue rock WE all call ‘home’ for the ‘moment’… PRESERVE THE WILDERNESS!
